Great replacement for the older model easier to use and better sound quality

Good build quality and sound but sometimes the connection between the headset and the phone breaks up despite it being next to each other

I've been toying with the idea of playing music whilst I'm out on my bike so when this came along I thought I'd give it a go. Fitment took around 5 minutes. I don't know if all crash helmets are the same but the speakers fitted perfectly into the ear recesses of my helmet. In fact I didn't really need to use the velcro pads supplied. I'm not interested in using it for making/receiving calls so I disconnected the microphone. Fortunately the mic is optional so you just unplug it. The interface can be either velcro'd or clipped onto your helmet. i went with the velcro. The unit paired perfectly with my phone and I managed to play music without any glitchyness. A couple of things I did notice: The tone is quite harsh. Not enough bottom end and far too much midrange (around 2khz) that just sounded distorted. With a bit of EQ I smoothed it out a lot but it did sound a bit lifeless. Being Sony speakers I had higher expectations. The voice prompt is difficult to understand. Initially I wasn't even sure it was English. I found it tricky to operate with gloves on but maybe that will improve with practice. Overall for the price it's ok but I'm sure there are much better sounding systems available.
