Really I’d rate this RG35XXH a 4.5. I wish it was just a little bigger, as my hands are kind of cramped while playing. I will also say that stock, it’s not much fun. The OS is a little boring. And there are few good games. We all know which retro games have replay value, and there aren’t many of them on the stock system. Since all of this firmware is open source, I upgraded to knulli os and added my favorite purchased games, now it’s nearly perfect. I also upgraded the micro sd card to a brand name card. and added a second one for games. It’s all pretty simple, you just have to be a little bit savvy or follow step-by-step instructions that are available in many places. Battery life seems good, screen is bright and vibrant, and controls feel great.

I bought this to have in the house for when my gaming grandson comes over. I read review after review & from those I thought this would be a great low cost alternative to Nintendo. After charging the first thing this little box wants me to do is connect to my wireless & do a firmware update. Except that one of the characters in my wifi password isn't even on the list of characters on the tiny screen. I was in disbelief so I checked over & over again & sure enough it wasn't there. I have never seen that before in my long life & long career in the computer/electronics world. I played a couple of the games & I do not have the patience to sit through the long intros & weird videos & really couldn't live with the slow speed or clunky controls, so it is going back in the box & back to Amazon immediately. I'll just make sure he brings his Switch when he comes over next time. This thing is actually zero stars. Thank goodness Amazon has a great return policy.

My husband said the games already on it are great, he's an 80's kid and said the nostalgia is real. I don't know much about games as I didn't grow up with them like he did.
