As of writing this review, I’ve had this drone for about a week, and already, I have a lot to say. I have a little bit of drone experience, but it’s been a long time, so I got this to refresh my skills, and get back into the hobby. I wanted something relatively cheap (compared to all the $1000+ drones lol) but also something that wasn’t complete landfill grade, and after reading some reviews, I decided to get this one. Pros: Easy to fly Feels high-quality, good materials OK, battery life Easy to connect to controller and phone Lightweight Decent range Pretty fast in sport mode Good features Return to home works well Overall, good and easy flying experience Cons: Poor range in moderate terrain Decently loud Expensive batteries for a knock off brand Charging the batteries takes a long time Drifts with strong wind Hard to control/bad picture quality during low signal Starting off with some of the cons, I live in a suburban area with some hills, but nothing major, and no tall buildings, but I start to get bad signal after going less than a mile away. The picture gets glitchy, and it takes a while for movements to happen, and gives me some anxiety, especially when it’s far away. That’s probably my biggest frustration, other than that, The batteries are pretty expensive, for being a Chinese Amazon brand, $50 for a single one, and real Dji batteries are only $10 more. They have a decent life, but they take forever to charge, even on a fast charger, they take over 1.5 hours from completely dead to full. Those are the only real cons worth more detail. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, it was super easy to start, super easy to connect my phone to the controller, connect the drone to the controller, etc., and even after a week, I feel confident with this thing, the materials of everything feel high-quality, it can fly very high, and goes pretty fast too, in light wind, I can usually get it to go around 12 mph in regular mode, and 32 mph in sport mode! Do you return to home feature is also better than what I was expecting, it flies back, and lands within 5 feet or so, from where it took off, even when the signal was low! All of the features in the controller app are about on par with more expensive drones from what I’ve seen, and it has all of the features that I would want. I also like how it came with a ton of stuff! I got the kit with one extra battery, and it came with a carrying case, extra propellers, tools, and some other small stuff. I would definitely recommend this for beginners, I feel like if I went with a cheaper drone, the experience wouldn’t be very good. The drone has already made me more confident as a flyer, and I feel like I will be outgrowing the drone pretty quick!

I have had several drones. This one I was immediately impressed with. The things about my other drones that I didn't like were solved with this drone simply by its design. I will write more when I have had more time flying it.

This is my second drone, the first one I had was just some no name one, to see if I liked drones enough to spend $$$ on one. I did, and after lot of research, review reading, and time, I decided on the Atom. I'm very happy with my choice. The size is good, comes in at 249g with a micro SD card inside. Flight time came in at about 28-30 Minutes on video mode. The controller is very responsive, and will react to minor adjustments, which is nice. Picture quality is phenomenal, in my opinion, I'm sure there's better, but for me the video and pics are amazing. It was easy to setup, as ahead of time, I created a potensic account. It walks you through the setup as well, when you connect to the app. There's a crazy amount of settings you can mess with. It flies great, hovers well, all the functions work well, and camera stays as still as a statue. If had to pick all over again, I'd pick the Atom all over again.

I am absolutely blown away by this thing. First off, the packaging and the overall look and feel of the drone itself are excellent. It does not look or feel like a cheap toy in any way. The controller is comfortable and easy to use. The drone itself is easy to set up. The PotensicPro app, which is used to control to the drone through the controller, is fantastic and easy to use. It has video tutorials and guides you through initial setup and calibration. This drone is insanely stable and easy to fly. Takeoff and landing are a breeze. I get great range and pretty decent battery life. Photos are sharp and high quality. I like that you can shoot RAW+JPEG. Videos are also super sharp and perfectly stable thanks to the gimbal. Shooting in 4k 30fps looks amazing. The drone gives you full control over the camera settings, so you can fine-tune the exposure and white balance if you know how manual settings work. My only complaint with video is that the Atom does not let you shoot video in any type of RAW/Log format. For that, you need to look at the new Atom 2 drone, but most people won't need that feature. This is only my first full day with it and I'm just so impressed. The quick shots and follow-me modes work great. No airspace restrictions that prevent you from taking off (though you still need to understand the local laws/regulations and the airspace you're flying in). This is a way better value than anything from DJI. I expect this drone to last a long time, and I can't wait to bring it with me on hikes and other adventures. I've included a couple of sample photos (unedited) and a short video clip that demonstrates the camera quality.
