heavy and has very bad geometry. when held up to a real 29r frame the bottom bracket is 2" too high and the chain-stay dimension is also 2" too long. was going to use it for commuting.

Stetched 26? or true 29er? For the price, I won't argue!
Althought a little bit heavy (7.4 lbs for the 16") for $55 it's a great deal. The item arrived quickly and neatly packed. The only thing was a little ding on the head tube, but since the frame is made from steel, it was easy to fix. Other than that, the paint is really nice and the weldings seem to be well made. I ordered this because I have some spare parts lying around and decided to build another bike. The geometry is very relaxed. Not the most efficient, but the ride should be very comfortable. Here are some facts about the frame: head angle is really about 68 degrees with a 100mm travel fork. Beware of the size!! Usually I use size 17-17.5, maybe 18 in 29ers since I'm 5'10". In 26ers I used from size 18-20. I have the feeling this is a 26 frame stretched to fit 29 tires. This frame (size 16) mated to a 100mm suspension fork makes the top tube sit at the same height as my other 17" 29er. That's because the bottom bracket is about 1" higher from the ground. Still haven't build the bike, but I'll update with more info as soon as I finish.

Good Cheap Platform For A Camping/Commuter bike
For anyone interested in trying to build up a low-cost 27.5-plus bike with old-school hub spacing, this is not a bad choice. With no modifications, a 27.5x2.8 tire runs nicely for me (albeit on a relatively narrow rim, not a 30 or 50mm model), and a 27.5x3.0 will fit, but has minimal clearance (again, on a standard width rim). With a little bit of manipulation, possible with the cromo tubing, some extra clearance can be found. The droputs on my frame were severely out of alignment, and I had to spend some grunt time with the dropout alignment tools before I could even get a wheel in the frame. If you don't have those tools or the experience to use them, plan on paying a bike shop to remedy this for you. Failure to do so will almost certainly result in a broken rear axle. The paint is really good, and a couple of people have asked me if my bike is a Surly. So, it's not an embarasment to ride the frame in public. If you worry about such things, just don't mention where the frame came from. ;-)I have mine built up with a 3" rear tire and 4" front, set up for bike-packing duty. I can't speak to durability, yet, but the welds all look good and, once the dropouts were aligned, the build went easily, with no problems in the bottom bracket threading, etc.I can see building up a pretty cool MonsterCross bike out of one of these, too.

Multiple issues with this frame. Could not insert rear wheel with 2" tire. Frame was delivered bent at rear dropouts.I bought it primarily for the price, wanted to have 29er steel frame without spending thousands. I was reminded that you get what you pay for.

My bad...
I bought it because of the price tag and the color, which I love. Unfortunately, this frame has a bad geometry for a 29er wheel frame: Rear Center (RC) is too long and the bottom bracket (BB) is too high. Therefore, it didn't fill my expectations. I cannot blame Amazon because it was a compulsive buy, yet people should know that this beautiful frame has flaws in its design.

It was a bit heavy at first but for a steel frame thats expected. Rides well, had to make a modification to the rear axle entry to allow the axle to slide up into locking position.

Solid frame, only minor issues. Great value for the money.
Solid design. No defects that affect any alignment of parts. Small alignment issues with welded reinforcement plate on top tube to head tube.Seat post diameter was found to be standard 27.2Fairly light for a chro-mo frame.Alltogether very satisfied and will be buying another soon.
