The M1 Garand Complete Assembly Guide

Quite well detailed with plenty of photographs. Some of the photo details are hard to make out but overall a book I would recommend for anyone with an M1 Garand.

A necessary reference for the owner of the M1G. I was able to clean up and lighten my trigger by referring to the author's instructions in contrast to sending the trigger-group out and paying many bucks to have somebody else do it. In the process of working on the trigger myself, I also learned more about it than if I had somebody else do it. That is invaluable to me. Great book.

Very detailed book covering all aspects of working on the Garand. Excellent chapter on barreling rifle to the finest detail, probably more than the average guy would deal with, but gives you precise informative info. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn the inner workings of the M1. I've read it over and over, and pick up, or understand more each time. This is a must have for owning your first Garand!

The M1 Garand Complete Assembly Guide is a very detailed book covering a lot of different topics in the form, fit, and functioning elements that make up the M-1 rifle. I think the writing could me a little better, and better organized. But the detail is there if you are wanting to be able to understand each of the rifle's components.

I strongly recommend The M1 Garand Complete Assembly Guide, by Walt Kuleck with Clint McKee. My first task, before firing my new rifle from the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), was to replace all the springs and lubricate it properly. This book shows how to disassemble, inspect, reassemble, lubricate, and adjust every part of the rifle. It shows what good parts look like, and how to diagnose the reasons for the many different wear patterns. It tells how to inspect visually, or by micrometer, or with go/no-go gauges - whichever is appropriate. It can take you from greasing the op-rod spring, to installing your new barrel and headspacing the bolt. I had my copy spiral bound so it can open flat on my bench for easy reference while I'm working.
