Q: What is the difference between this “plus” and the non-plus model?

I'm pretty sure that the non-plus model just sits on the vehicle seat, there's no way to attach it to the car. The plus model uses LATCH to attach to the vehicle. On the earlier model, the booster can slide around when the child gets in and out, and it must be secured to the seat using the lap-shoulder belt when the child isn't sitting in it, to prevent it from freely moving around while driving.

Q: Does the quick release latch in the front get in the way of the child's legs? Does the plastic part front & center get uncomfortable?

It's not uncomfortable -- it's way down and in the front of the seat, similar to other Chicco seats. Doesn't interfere with seating comfort at all.

Q: Is this booster all black? What is iron?

The Iron fashion offers black matte vegan leather tops on the armrests for comfortable, wipeable convenience. The black knit is accented with a silver metallic fleck to complete this stylish ensemble.

Q: Can you use this booster in a car that doesn’t have a latch?

This seat, as with all booster seats simply positions the child. The work is done by the vehicle's seatbelt. The latch feature of this car seat is primarily used to secure the car seat when there is NO passenger in the seat, although it obviously holds the seat steady whether there's a child in the seat or not.
