How are 3 packages going to last 72 hours?

Common scenes would say cook only what you need. Option A would be to eat 1/3 each package a day, which the directions indicate is one cup. One cup oatmeal for breakfast, One cup of Mac & cheese for lunch, and one cup of Creamy Rice & Vegetable for Dinner. That would equal 72 hours aka three days. Alternatively you could eat one entire package a day. Oatmeal one day, Mac & cheese the next day, and of Creamy Rice & Vegetable for the last day. In dire circumstances city folks could add garden veggies, squirrel stray cats and dogs. In our neighborhood we’d use garden veggies, elk, deer, salmon, oysters, shrimp, clams fish, bear, pheasant, doves, duck, maybe geese that we try to keep our freezer full of.

How is this a 4 week food supply with only 1,200 calories a day? The amount of calories would last an adult 18 days only.

Ok, so the first misconception is that this is a total meal replacement for 3 days. That is not the case. These are emergency food rations, not gourmet meals. 1200 calories a day is enough to survive on until you are able to source a better/more abundant food source. Instead of wondering about your caloric intake worry more about how to obtain/make clean drinking water. You can go 3 minutes with out air, 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food. For what these are designed for (EMERGENCY rations), they are just fine.

I highly recommend everyone get this. I suggest getting one each month. Each one is enough food for 1 person for 1 month. Or it sufficient for 2 people for 2 weeks. Or enough for 4 people for 1 week. I highly recommend enough food for a minimum of a month 2 months worth is better, 3 months is good and 4 months is best.

Bought for our survival supplies in case of evacuating for hurricanes and if food is scarce. Count of supplies was accurate and will feed 8 people and normal serving. Just have fresh water and a heating element to cook. Can’t tell about taste but I think adding anything with them will be fine.
