Great Lakes Wellness Collagen Peptides Powder

This is my 4th great lakes I have brought and I think this is absolutely a must try product, I have been taking this product for nearly a few months now and the benefits are a good result (for me) I take one table spoon in morning and one table spoon before bed in cold water... I have put a lot of research into this product and i know you can buy cheaper products out there but you never know if the powder comes from animals that have been grass fed naturally or fed with chemicals so I tend to stick with the positive research. I have noticed a lot of difference for example my nails are stronger and grow nicely but that works together with me not putting nail varnishes on my nails which contain harsh chemicals that actually ruin your nails and absorb into your body... also my hair has grown better and a little quicker meaning I am not Rapunzel but I have noticed a slight length :) and feels stronger, my stylist can not believe that I have not had my hair trimmed within 7 months (usually I have it cut every time I have my roots done 6-8 weeks) and together with my hair I don't used silicone/chemical based shampoo's conditioners etc that again ruin your hair and absorb into your body. my skin feels a lot better and I must admit on the backs of my thighs I did start to get faint cellulite looking skin if you know what I mean and it has faded that a little but all in all this has worked well for me I know everybody is different but for me it is good, my boyfriend takes it too as he suffers with bad backs and when he got out of bed in the morning his feet ached when he stood up but he said this has helped his aches a lot for him. If you were to buy it I think just buy the one for now and see how you get on I don't suffer with allergies to anything so I cant comment on any allergy based questions.. its not suitable for vegetarian's as it does come from the bones of animals but each to their own I guess.... I have tried the red tub... I tend to put that with a herbal tea if I am in the mood to wait for it to dissolve but to be honest that tube is still in my cupboard :) anyway that's all I can think of for my review at the moment but if I can think of anything else I will put it in another review when I buy another.

I am a regular buyer and have purchased this countless times. Due to the dramatic and unsteady price fluctuations I have rated as 4, otherwise I am very happy with this product. I mainly add it to my protein shake. It mixes well, it carries minimal taste, but this can vary from batch to batch with some batches carrying a a degree of 'animal' smell/ taste, but I guess this should be expected, it being beef collagen. The overall health benefits outweigh any negatives. While I mainly supplement this as part of my post-workout protein, I have experienced many wider benefits, particularly a significantly improved sleep, and improved stress control. On these points, there is certainly a beneficial mechanism acting centrally, probably an improved chemical balance directly related to the endocrine system i.e. enhanced stress responses. Working in a stressful and intense (intellectual) role, as a scientist, I must say there is no medication, or supplement that compares. In terms of skin, hair, nails, elasticity, joints etc., I wouldn't declare this, in my experience, as the secret ingredient to eternal youth. But I have certainly experienced faster recovery times, and improved joint flexibility. As a young male in his late 20s my skin, nails, hair are in pretty good condition in the first place, I guess folk of an older age may experience or observe the effects more significantly in this regard. In any case, for me these remain as side benefits as my main purpose of using this product is to re-balance my amino-acid intake, which I have certainly experienced the benefits of as mentioned. Lastly, I have in the past paid as little as £16 for this item. It fluctuates dramatically up to at least £30 on occasion, and currently being sold at £24. Fortunately I have found another supplier (iHerb) selling this product at £16 and so at this moment of time I will no longer buy through Amazon.

I have read much lately on the benefits of collagen for skin hair nails and joints and have been using this for around 3 weeks. I take one tablespoon in coffee am and the same again in hot chocolate before bed. It mixes easily and there is no change in taste or texture of the drink which is great. I have not yet noticed any difference in my skin or nails but there was one thing that surprised me very much the last few times I have been in the shower. Normally when washing my hair (actually, every single time) what looks like loads of my hair comes out - like a small but significant handful. Im sure many other people are familiar with that. Well the last few showers I have had, I have only lost around 3 or 4 hairs - extraordinary!! The ONLY thing it can be is the collagen , and this has never happened to me before . I hope this review is helpful to others who may have issues with thinning/fine hair. Im lucky that I have really thick hair and that has never been a problem with me, if anything mine is too thick. Give it a go , it is pricey but the reported health benefits are sure to be worth it if they are correct. I will try and update when I have been on it longer, I have already purchased another tin, this is one thing I would not want to live without, im hoping to see improvements in my skin elasticity, stronger nails and to help preserve my 40 year old joints!

I started to use this product and the red cannister of ordinary gelatine hoping to experience some improvement in my skin, hair and digestion. I have had very good results. My hair grows faster and my skin is softer. In addition I seem to heal wounds quickly. I like that the product is grass fed and also kosher, as I do not eat pork. It's a high quality and effective supplement that makes it easy to get the benefits of collagen. I usually stir 3 or 4 tsps of this into cups of herbal tea. It is completely tasteless and texture less and you cannot tell it is in there. One cannister lasts me quite a long time. They have recently changed the lid on this version which makes it easier to get at.

Dont let low ratings fool you, i was worried too when i read those low rating reviews. But i still tried it because the collagen brand i was already using, still had some of the problems that were mentioned in the low rating reviews; a little smell, little grassy taste, and late dissolving so i thought what could go wrong but lucky me, this collagen literally solves all of the problem, i am literally amazed by how fast it dissolves, i m a late sleeper and late riser so i am always late for office, and when i am up, i want everything fast, this powder literally dissolves in seconds even in cool drinks/milk, no smell and taste at all. My problem for the collagen is literally solved. Don't know how beneficial it is because its only been 2 days i’ve purchased this and i couldn't wait to post a review.

I am fairly young, at 29 yrs., and have had issues with stiff joints ever since childhood such as cracking wrists, stiff fingers and locking ankles when jumping or going down stairs. I have been taking this supplement twice a day for about a month and am feeling a TREMENDOUS difference in my joints. But that's not it, my skin is loving it too! I have always had great skin, but this is making it even better, it already feels firmer and am noticing the fine lines (crows feet) by my eyes are dissapearing! Also, I have been experiencing the best quality sleep I've ever had, my baby sleeps better too! If these things aren't good enough already, I am seeing my waist slim as well. It's really insane the changes I've seen. I had a baby 4 months ago and got a few small stretch marks that are hardly noticeable now also. In the a.m., I mix a heaping Tbsp with boiling water, organic lemon slices and a half Tbsp organic, raw locally sourced honey. In the evening, I drink 1 heaping Tbsp with warmed organic, raw, unpasteurized locally sourced milk that is grass-fed start to finish. I've always heard that warm raw milk can make you sleep better because of the enzymes, but with this, it makes all the difference. The lemon water (first thing in the am) helps your body to detox in a gentle way. The milk combo at night gives your body protein to build lean muscle and keep in mind, your body does its recovering while you sleep as well, so you're giving yourself a shot of rich vitamins, minerals and good fats necessary to heal. Also, mid-day, I take a Trace Minerals power pak, love these, I get an extra dose of the high quality minerals I need. I am breast feeding and I find I need an extra boost throughout the day. I do not notice any flavor, but my boyfriend does - he says it's totally not unbearable but can taste a slight 'beefy' note. Sometimes when I'm in a rush I will add it to my morning coffee. I only drink one 8oz cup of good quality coffee as caffeine will dry your bones out, but I believe coffee has some good benefits also in moderation, like helping to keep my sanity for one hahhah. One importank thing to note, I tried to increase my dosage to about two tbsp in one serving and got a headache, and I rarely ever get those so I can easily attribute that to the extra dosage. Think I was getting obsessive because of the results I've seen lol. I literally can't say enough about this stuff. I do yoga and my boyfriend works a physically demanding construction job(9 yrs in construction) and we both are feeling a huge difference in the fluidity of our joints! Do I get to be a paid spokesperson yet?!

I just subscribed to this to receive every 6 weeks . I take it in my coffee every morning and love it. No taste to it , dissolves fast , no lumps and I feel like it makes my coffee just a touch creamier . I’ve been switching between different brands for the past year but I think I will stick to this one for a while .
