The best hammock for the price.
For the price, there is no better hammock. You may find others a few dollars cheaper, but they're generally from pretty unknown companies. Grand Trunk is as reputable of a company as any in the hammock industry. You don't have to worry about getting a cheap knockoff product, this is a hammock designed to be used for years. The material is very sturdy, and somewhat less elastic than a typical parachute material hammock. Because of this, I'd say it's somewhat less comfortable, but without using a parachute hammock back to back with this one (like I did) you would not notice it. A parachute material hammock is also nearly twice as expensive for a name brand one. Like all backpacking hammocks, this material is very breathable, it's also soft to the touch. There is no included tree straps. The hammock comes with rope at the ends to attach to your own straps. There are small "s" hooks included. I reccomend buying some cheap weight bearing spring clips at a hardware store for an upgrade. The included "s" clips however seem sturdy, and are extemely lightweight. I hung my own hammock using ENO Atlas straps, which this hammock worked well with.Which brings me to one of the biggest pluses of this hammock, the size and weight. It's nearly half the size packed as my other double parachute hammock. If you're looking to save space and weight, the only hammock you'll find better is the Grand Trunk Nano... which also happens to be more then 3 times as expensive, and not as comfortable. This hammock is perfect if you have a small pack, and or are just trying to pack light.Despite packing small, it opens up to a generously sized single person hammock. I'm 6'1" and 220 lbs and I don't feel cramped. A small camp pillow behind my head and I'm extremely comfortable (just make sure you're laying angled sideways, the correct way). There are a few downsides. Namely that your color choices are limited, and it's not as flashy as many other hammocks. You get a choice of camo, or a solid color. A few more options would go a long ways. Also while the "s" clips work fine, better lightweight spring clips or carabiners would be better, although for the price they are acceptable.Overall, this may be the perfect starter hammock. If you find its not for you, you're not out much money, but if you enjoy it, you're not stuck with a lousy hammock, you'll have a great hammock that should last. It's also en excellent choice for people who are trying to cut pack weight, as a back up hammock, or an extra for friends. Bottom line, there is no hammock for the price than can match the features and comfort of this hammock for under $20. Don't hesitate to buy this hammock.

quality ultralight steal once caribiners are replaced
This hammock is decently wide for a single, and short enough I can use it between virtually any trees. My only problem is that one of my s-hooks bent and dropped me this weekend. They were a little small to use on my tree straps (Eno Atlas-they're amazing) so I knew I had to fully have the s-hook on the loop in the daisy chain. Well, we hiked up right before dark and I had my mom help me set up. I looked at it after she set it up and thought, "Oh, that looks odd" and went on with starting a fire. Well, it turns out only the tip of the s-hook was on the loop, instead of the loop being fully in the curve of the hook, so when I laid in it (completely cocooned) my weight was on the tip of the hook and bent it out straight. Mind you, it took a 175 lb person, fully bundled, with two sleeping bags (one for normal sleeping bag use, the other as a cocoon outside my hammock to double as an underquilt/top quilt) and I was fidgeting and adjusting and laying there for about 10 minutes before it even bent and dropped my on my bum. All hammock users know, never hang higher than you are willing to fall. That being said, earlier this year my husband jumped on me while I was in it, which vastly exceeded the weight limit just by combining our weight, not even counting the extra force added from his leap, and it held quite nicely. It wasn't until I misused the s-hooks that I had a problem. For an ultralight hiker, this is a steal. Just DIY an underquilt and buy a proper tarp and you're good for anything (except places without trees I suppose)BOTTOM LINE: Either upgrade to proper caribiners (what I am now on Amazon to buy) or just be super careful when hooking them up every time. It wasn't a problem of weight capacity, it was user error (albeit for less than $10 you can have peace of mind and heavy duty caribiners)

great hammock for the money
Overall it's a nice and low cost hammock.I'm comparing versus the ENO pronest. They are similar in weight but not cost. The ENO costs 3x as much, but in my opinion is worth the added cost. Not to mention you can regularly find it for only double the cost. The best parts to this hammock are, low cost, light weight, thin material (breezy in summer). Why I view the ENO as better are also the cons. This GT hammock has s hooks for attaching to a rope/strap to hang the hammock. The ENO has professional carabiners. The ENO material is also thicker and thus has the propensity to last longer and insulate better. The ENO also packs smaller, albeit, under compression they are very similar.Overall, this is a great hammock for the money, I knocked it 1 star due to the attachment system using s clips rather than carabiners. Also, unless you have excess 550 cord and are good at tying knots, grab some hammock straps because this doesn't come with any. All that is included is the stuff sack, hammock, s clips.Edit: After using the GT hammock on an overnighter with the ProNest side by side in a 3 tree line, I was able to do some better comparisons. One thing I really liked about the GT hammock is there is more length, I can comfortably lay out versus the ENO I am a little compacted at 6ft tall. In my opinion this makes the GT a serious contender and at 1/3 the cost, I would comfortably say it belongs in anyone's gear bag. For $20 you can get 3 hammocks for the cost of one comparable ProNest. I still dock it a point for the S clips because it takes extra care during setup, getting into/out of the hammock, and stuffing the hammock so it doesn't snag.

Great warm weather hammock and super light weight. Excellent durable material.
Super hammock. Very light weight, super easy setup, material vents very well. Excellent for rest stops on long day hikes or even overnight in the summer. Pair this with a good mosi net and it's perfect for a lightweight sleeping set up for summer hiking anywhere where you have a couple of trees to string it up between.

Packs light and small. Easy, extra camp seating.
I like it. I'm not and never will be a hammock camper because I don't like sleeping in them. But this hammock and some tree straps are light enough for me to bring out backpacking/camping so that I have some extra, comfy seating wherever basecamp ends up being. Can't complain. The shape is a little bit 'meh' in regards to the sides, but for the price of the hammock I really have no issues. The shape of the sides aren't a fault, just my personal preference if they curled up a bit more.

Good deal
Just getting into hanging and this fits my needs nicely. Note that it does not come with tree straps / a hanging kit, which is sorta required if you plan to hang from 2 trees without potentially harming them. If hanging from something man-made, nothing more than some good heavy rope is needed. While this hammock could be made at home (it's a simple design - not at all difficult to make) it's worth saying that for the listed price one would be hard pressed to cover materials and approximate labour costs.

Great value for the money
I try to pack super light when I go camping, but since bringing this along, I'm willing to carry this extra piece. When you've hiked 5-6 hours and you just want to stretch out and relax, there's really nothing that beats a hammock. And this one is well made!

Great lightweight hammock for stuffing in a small hiking pack ...
Great lightweight hammock for stuffing in a small hiking pack or when you need to travel light. Can be used as a backpacking hammock but I prefer my double hammock when I have space for it just because I like having extra room
