Cake Pan Strips Work!
Believe Cakes bake better when using these bands moist around cake pans. They work well. These are good quality! Recommend them.

This really works to eliminate dark edges!
I decided to try these strips out while making my mini cakes. Im impressed with how much thought they put into making these adjustable. There are two loops and one of the loops is movable so you can tuck the leftover tail in anywhere. I can use them with my 4” cake pans as well as my 9” pans. Im even more thrilled with the results. Without the strips the edges of the cake, top and sides would be brown and crispy. Im loving how my cakes turn out now, soft and pillowy all around. There are no instructions in the packaging, but soak these in water for at least 5 minutes before using.

Work great, browned a little
I used these for the first time yesterday and they resulted in the level-est cakes I've ever baked! PROS: fit and stayed on well Worked great CONS: Didn't come with instructions in the bags so I ran them under water for a few minutes. Now seeing I should have soaked them for 5 minutes? Not sure how far off I was. They felt pretty soggy. They got a good amount of brown spots and were completely dry and a little crispy when I took them out after 23 minutes in a 350F oven. This is why I'm removing a star. This makes me nervous about what will happen if I use them for longer or in a hotter oven! But, next time I will see if soaking them for longer helps with that issue.

Where have these been my whole life?
I saw these used by a YouTuber and wanted to give them a try. My cakes turned out beautifully with no crispy or brown edges. They also kept the cakes flat to stack and cooked uniformly. No need to buy the brand, which I almost did. These work every bit as good, and at a lower cost!

A gadget that works!
I like kitchen gadgets! I was skeptical about these straps so I ordered the "off-brand" set to test them. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well they worked.

No more uneven layers, but be prepared to research how to use
I searched for this product after seeing this on a baking blog. The idea is that you wet these fabric strips and put them around your cake pan to prevent uneven layers. This product came in a clear plastic bag with absolutely no instructions. I watched a video on a baking blog to see how to use them. I think I was putting them on properly, but they kept slipping off my cake pans. I basically had to hold them on the pan while I placed them into the preheated oven. That's a recipe for disaster. They did work though. My layers were completely level. I was so surprised at how even they were. I didn't have to level my layers at all before assembling my cake. That was kinda awesome and worth the Googling on how to use. I didn't have to alter cooking time or temperature either.

These little guys solved a problem I never knew I had!
Like everyone else, I baked cakes with domed tops. I never knew this was a bad thing. If you were baking a wedding cake, yeah, it would matter. Otherwise... I was amazed to discover people actually sliced off their domes. Wouldn't that just cause a crumb problem? The discovery of crumb coating led me to YouTube where a demonstration of wrapping cake pans with wet paper towels enclosed in foil revealed that doming can be deterred by science...cooling the sides allows slower, more even baking throughout the pan, thus doming does not occur. The cake I baked following the YouTube instruction turned out great, but my arthritic hands had a terrible time keeping those foil things from falling off when I was putting the pans on the racks and taking them out. (My foil strips came out more loose and far rattier-looking than the ones in the video!) I decided commercial strips were worthwhile if those foil monstrosities performed well, so I ordered a set. Since receiving them, I've baked two cakes, six layers, and all were perfect. I highly recommend this product. They were easy to put on even with my stiff fingers. I also recommend that if you happen to have a pizza peel, you use it for pan delivery and retrieval from the oven. Even these strips can slip a bit if your pan sides are not completely vertical. The peel lessens the chance of slippage and it's just easier if your dexterity is suspect. Fewer burns too. My peel is getting more use than it's had in the 10 years since I bought it. If your husband needs an explanation of just WHY you needed yet another baking gadget, just dazzle him with the scientific reasons to calm him and then slice the cake and show him how well it fits together now that it's flat. As it should be. So there you go. Two recommendations. Your pizza peel will justify its reason for taking up so much pantry space. And you will be pleased with your flat topped cakes and the strips that tweaked the science of doming. Even if you never knew before that your cake layers should be flat! KL

Looks exactly like picture. I soaked them in water squeezed out the excess and placed around the pan. The cakes came out perfectly flat I was shocked how well it worked. I definitely recommend!
