If you've ever seen a movie, you are impressed with sculptures, wow the detailed architectural decor, or even use a phone, you have encountered a handwork of people who use SmoothOn rubber, plastic, foam, and other products to turn their ideas into a three-dimensional reality. Universal release agents are specially formulated for mold making and casting and are suitable for most liquid rubber and liquid plastic products. Extrudes molded rubber (polyurethane or polysalphide) from properly prepared models. You may need to seal porous models (wood, plaster, concrete) or specific modeling clay (including water and sulfur) with Smooth-on SuperSeal or other sealer. Universal mold release is effective in a wide temperature range from 40 degrees to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Features When using silicone rubber, SuperSeal only seals the surface of the model Do not use universal mold release. Universal mold release releases a variety of casting materials (such as epoxy, smooth-on liquid plastic, etc.) From hardened rubber mold. This product has limited shelf life, so please use it as soon as possible. When used properly, the universal mold release improves molding efficiency in a variety of casting applications and actually extends the life of the production mold. Adult supervision required. Works well, but it's a bit pricey. Effective for most mold-making tasks, but there are more affordable alternatives available.

I have a few large silicone molds for projects. I used to use epoxy tape to prevent sticking of the epoxy in the seams. I didn't think a release spray would work and didn't want to lose my project (or the mold) because of bound epoxy. I finally used this on the sides of one of the molds because the silicone surface had some scratches that might promote sticking. The spray worked so well that I only used it for the next new pour. There was essentially no sticking. The piece popped out so easily ... I'll never go back to tape for this. I recommend it strongly and will continue to buy. No complaints; great product.
