Absolutely lovely…
Love its sound. Well made, only a few spines to eliminate for easier rolling. Gonna take my cats a while to get used to it!

Fabulous product and better than expected
This product was everything advertised and more. The length of the stick, travel time and sound produced is exactly what I wanted. I'm not sure about some of the reviews or the quality has improved. My rain stick has a subtle, non-gloss covering that still permits some texture which is ideal. I love rotating the rain stick it in my hands and I produce its sounds. This combination with mindful breathing is the meditative break I need at times. If the company's mission is authentic then it's a great win-win for us all.

Flash-Flood Stick
My cousin owns a fabulous rain stick which gives a good 40-45 seconds of measured sound when flipped vertically, and I was trying to find its equal when I bought this. When tilted vertically, the tiny beads inside flood down very rapidly, with the majority of them reaching the bottom within 2.5 to 4 seconds. You can only achieve what I perceive to be the truer "rain effect" by holding it at an angle. Otherwise, it is a flash-flood effect, not a rain effect. The stick itself has a visually plastic appearance (it is not plastic), and this is probably due to the coating, which gives it a semi-sticky feeling when held. There appear to be small holes in the stick, one of which (at least) allows beads to escape. I will have to do some sealing work.I know that there has to be a better quality rain stick to be found, but where? : /

Quality rainstick with awesome sounds
Does what it should, sounds really good. Use it to play with a didgeridoo and crystal bowls. Like the rain sounding effects, and the uninterrupted rocking takes some time getting used to. Always wanted one of these when I heard one.The sealing treatment is more for the wood, and there are some pegs and thorns that back up with use. This is natural, and the way it was made. Get a spoon or a multitool and push them back in. I prefer a more primitive feel in musical instruments, and I enjoy letting it rain wherever I go.Thanks Amazon!

Ok for my first rainstick
Reviewers with photos vary so much, you never know what exactly you are getting. I see pics of really attractive rainsticks on here, but mine's ok. This is my first rainstick, so I didn't really know what to expect. It's one inch shorter than the 40" advertised, diameter is 2 inches. Turn it upsidedown, and the sound lasts about 3-4 seconds, turn it slowly, while spinning it around with two hands, and it lasts up to a full 2 minutes .... but keep in mind your hands will get tired too. The finish is fine, not sure if it's lacquered or what, it gives it a plasticy look.

Disappointment
It appeared my stick was broken or cracked and glued back together. Poor quality. It still works though.
