I LOVE THIS THING!!!
I got this to replace a gooseneck mount that needed to fit in a very tight, awkward space. This mount is AWESOME! It is terrific quality and hasn't budged a bit or broken in any way despite being moved around daily for quite a while, and when tightened down, it holds my mic perfectly without sagging. It collapses down very small and has wonderful range of motion because it has so many adjustment points, so it can get very out of the way when you need it to, and can be extended to just where you want it when you do need it. This mount is sturdy, well-designed, and more than worth what I paid for it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a compact, highly adjustable, well-thought-out mic mount. Amazon has millions of cheapo mounts, but this one is great Samson quality and works amazingly well. I haven't seen another mic mount with an even remotely comparable design.

An OK mic stand
not bad not great. For its price looks well built (hard solid plastic) I could not keep it because of the threads did not work with my mic. Check threads a size before ordering.

Boom! I like it!
I can see a lot of different uses for this boom arm. But I'll rate it on what I use it for. I play guitar and lead singing for my Bible study every week. As the years have gone by the group has grown to where I need to bring my guitar amp and a microphone. The problem is that we sit at tables in a large community building ~ so I bought this with that in mind. It's really compact, folding up into a nice size to fit in my amp bag. It's easy to adjust and setup. Functions well, clamping onto the table top (up to 2"). There's plenty of boom and range of motion for a microphone to set up perfectly me sitting a table. Works great, and great price for all that you get! Great idea for a studio!

Handy accessory for field recording. I keep it in my "go" case at all times.

Trying to make it work
This is my tiny version ur typical studio set-up. I was inneed of a very small studio set-up for traveling purposes. I travel to classrooms, youth center and hopefully afterschool programs. I put together a keyboard stool, Pyle two tier rack, Akai MPC Live 2, M Audio Axion 25, Ashdown Meters headset, and FiFine K688 dynamic mic. Now that my mic has arrived I was in the market for a boomarm. I looked at so many desk top boomarms and the that caught my eye is the Samson MBA18 microphone boomarm. I was inneed of a small but strong boomarm. It made of a sturdy metallic material with some plastic pieces also. The way I have my set-up I use my boomarm in an unorthodox way. Instead of the vertical clamping style, which can't be gone because of the soft cushion of the seat, so I had to apply it horizontally by clamping it to the Pyles rack. Tight fit and it holds some what. Unfortunately for me, when I have to extend the arm the boomarm screw does not give a tight enuf grip to hold the boomarm steady and inplace without it falling down. BUMMER. Eventhough I like this product... I am going to make it work for me.

My mistake for no doing enough research
I bought this needing a short boom arm not wanting a big one but failed to understand just how small 18 inches really was for a boom arm lol. It's not strong enough to carry an MV7 that's for sure but for lighter mics go ahead and get this.

Perfect for my setup
I purchased this for my Rode PodMic and had some doubts when I ordered it, but its perfect for me, and the extending boom adds just enough distance. If anyone has a PodMic, they know how solid they feel and their weight - 2.06 pounds. It has a 5 pound maximum mic weight capacity. Samson has different sizes but in measuring prior to ordering it, the 18" is fine for me. The various sizes are 18", 28", 38", and 48". Most will probably not need anything past the 28" though. Mostly. I would have liked setting it up on the side of my computer desk but my desk butt's up against the wall so the rear part of the boom arm will hit the wall and was not an option for me. My monitor setup is dual monitors, a 26" inch vertical and a 34" inch horizontal, on a dual-arm monitor mount, so I opted to mount this on one of the arms where there is just enough space gap between the two monitors for the boom to protrude. It supports the weight of the PodMic perfectly. If you need a boom arm like this, I highly recommend it for any podcasters who might be in tight quarters or if you need a portable boom solution when traveling. It's something I will use when traveling since it will easily go into a travel bag or suitcase. Fully retracted it is just about 10.5 inches long. Experiencing the quality and use of this boom arm, I wouldnt mind trying out the 28" or something as needed. Right now, the 18"" is perfect for my desk space.

Nice stand but is stressed with heavy mic and Isolation Shield
This works great on my cramped work area, I have ribbon mic with a Iso shield on it but it does seem to be maxed out with the weight, time will tell if something breaks but for now I like it.

Wish it would be easier to tighten for heave mics with shock mounts but it does work well once set.

Ne ho provato tanti questo è l'unico che mi ha soddisfatto. Forse perché ha un buon supporto che aggrappa bene al tavolo. Da molta sicurezza.

Needed a mic arm to attach to my desk while filming a different angle for youtube videos and this is perfect to hold a small pencil mic. LOVE the fact it's so small and light. I'm surprised there aren't more stands like this here on Amazon but I guess with this one there is no need for alternatives!

Works great and has some decent clamp range.

Es bueno el brazo solo le falta un pequeño detalle, el tornillo que está a la base que sojeta todo el brazo no apreta suficiente y tiene a girarse por el peso de mi micrófono. Sino fuera por eso sería excelente.
