This worked really well and just what I needed for my laptop.

I happen to have just bought a new iMac, but I wanted to add a second display. I also happen to own a smallish VGA display of 720p resolution, and a 23 inch 1080p with HDMI. At first I looked at buying two different cables, just in case I wanted to connect either of the displays to my new machine. But then I saw this adapter, that could conceivably be used to connect either of my monitors to my iMac via thunderbolt. And it cost what a single one of those cables would have! So for me, it was a no brainier. The cable seems well made, sturdy and elegant. It comes with gold plated terminals. It connects easily and snugly to either VGA or HDMI cables, which means I can now use my iMac with either type of monitor, and it works beautifully with my Mac, from the second I plugged it in, wihout a single hiccup so far. I have only owned this adapter for only a few days, but I think it's pretty much perfect. It's kind of a shame that it doesn't do 4K, but frankly, I don't see myself spending big bucks on a 4K display any time soon, so this is not a huge deal for me. Just be aware that it's got a maximum resolution of 1920x1080. All in all, I am extremely satisfied with this device.

This adapter has met my needs perfectly. It has a simple plug-and-play design and a solid build quality. I haven't had a single problem with it since I purchased it. I currently use it with my MacBook Air and a 19 inch Dell monitor with VGA connection. Both devices connect to this adapter perfectly and the connections are snug. The adapter does have the holes built in for securing the VGA cable, if you prefer. However, I have never needed to use them. With regards to quality, there doesn't seem to be any signal loss or distortion across the adapter. I can't speak for high-end, high-resolution monitors, but my external display ran 1280x720 resolution just fine. Overall, this adapter is simple and problem free, and I would recommend it as a (much) cheaper alternative to purchasing a special monitor with a displayport connection.

Using this with a 2012 Macbook Air. My goal was to shoot video over to a 2nd monitor and be little bit more productive at my desk. Bought this mainly because it has support for VGA and HDMI so I can use it on newer monitors or older monitors. Plugged it in and it worked right away. Except for some weird reason if using the VGA port, the mac air can't detect my 2nd monitors native resolution. Changed the VGA cable with no luck. I feel it might be a bug within OSX... Because I ended up using a HDMI cable and HDMI to DVI adapter and OSX detected the monitors native resolution right away.

Great product! I was looking for a solution to be able to decrease the number of cords I could carry around in my bag and ran across this item. Packaging: The packaging was pretty standard, in a small box inside the larger Amazon prime box. It was well packaged as usual and came in good condition. Product: The product itself seems to be very well made and isn't too thick and isn't very bulky either. This was very important to me because I keep it in a messenger bag, so space is at a premium. The cord isnt too short but is just perfect and is also flexible enough to be able to bend to where you need it to be. There's no need to include a picture, it looks just like the stock picture. Conclusion: Great product, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to use a HDMI or dual monitor with a VGA cord. I didn't get a discount for this item by writing this review, I paid full pricing.

This worked well for my mac. I was looking for something that would allow me to hook up to my monitor and this device was reliable. I had zero issues or complaints. I love that I could use HDMI or VGA. Having both came in handy especially those moments where I plugged into an older monitor that didn't have HDMI. Again I had zero issues. This product is a steal for under $15. If you are considering only getting the HDMI port I would suggest to get the Dual it isn't that bulky and like I said there was a couple of times I was helping a client out and plugged into an old monitor and I was glad I had it because I need two screens.

Love that this little adapter has both hdmi and vga ports - some of the classrooms I present or teach in have different cables so its helpful to have the flexibility when I bring my surface pro. I was using an amazon basics adapter and for some reason it was quite finicky and wouldn't always work so I decided to give this product a try instead. Luckily their not expensive :) Cant yet comment on durability long term but so far so great!

Worked on my iMac desktop for a 2nd monitor setup! Plugged it into the port on the back of the iMac desktop with the thunderbolt symbol, then plugged the HDMI adapter that was attached to my Samsung monitor into the HDMI slot on this dongle and the 2nd monitor screen popped up right away and I was able to drag from the iMac screen to the Samsung screen without even changing any of my settings. I haven't tested the audio -- not sure if this particular combination allows for audio but I don't really need it for my purposes anyways -- just happy it worked so easily for adding a 2nd monitor to my iMac computer!
