We have hard water and use a water softener. We've tried various brands and this one seems to clean the best. I've noticed if we run out of softener salt that the dishes get spotty, but with hard water that's to be expected. The unscented is actually unscented too, so that's a plus. My husband and I are both sensitive to smells.

I've been using this detergent for the past 6 months or so. Overall, I love it. I love that it's fragrance free so it doesn't give us headaches with a strong scent! There have just been a couple times that there was leftover residue of peanut butter and rice on certain dishes that the detergent didn't get off. I've learned what substances I need to wash by hand versus sticking in the dishwasher with this detergent. All in all, I'm happy, and it does save me time from washing dishes by hand.

I am somewhat of a chemically sensitive person particularly when it comes to chemical aromas. Two of my biggest pet peeves are scented trash bags and scented dishwasher detergent. I'm just trying to get my dishes clean I'm not trying to fill the air with a perfume. Why would you even want your dishes to smell like some perfume? It's so ridiculous? Just give me a free and clear dish liquid and I'm happy. But beware! If you purchase "free and clear" from Cascade, it is not free and clear at all! It still has a lemon scent which is just mind-bogglingly frustrating. So far, 7th generation is the only brand that I have found that is truly free and clear.

About the same price per bottle that I paid in store, but so much easier to buy in bulk online. I've used this product many times and really like how well it works in my dishwasher.
