The cable delivers well
Perfect cable for older external hard drives. Very fast transfer.

Works great for my old enclosure
I needed a USB C connector so that an old HDD enclosure with fan could connect to my newer laptop. This works very well for my data cold storage. It was better than buying a new enclosure.

Works great with new M4 Mac Mini
Using to connect to an older G-Raid 4TB drive that was previously on a 2011 Mac Mini. Connected to my M1 Macbook Air it complained about permissions and was read-only. But I was pleasantly surprised when I connected to a new M4 Mac Mini and it came up with no issues. Works great!

Does not support multiple drives over Esata
I couldn’t really use it. It doesn’t seem to support multiple drives over one connection. So it’s pretty useless for uses with a drive bay. I was trying to get some more life out of an old driveway with usb 3.0 and esata since esata should be much faster than usb 3.0. So I just bought the bullet and got a faster usb 3.1 drive bay.

Helps to keep your older external hard drives useful
If you have an older external drive with an eSATA port, and you’re hoping to get some more mileage out of it, this is the cable for you. I had an old G-Raid drive, connected with a USB cable, and I found that some 4K footage was stuttering while editing In Premiere. After swapping in this new eSATA cable, I got a three-and-a-half times bump in speed (see photos) and playback problems were greatly improved. The only thing that kept this from being a five-star review was the price. $30 for a cable is a tough pill to swallow, but at least it does the job.

Worked as expected without driver issues.
Worked as expected. Win 10. No issues. HP 840 laptop.

Not as initially described.
This product is not a USB 3.0 to eSATA adapter, it's an eSATA to USB C adapter that runs at USB 3.0 speed. I had to contact Startech to clarify this. The correct item (eSATA to USB 3.0) is Startech product # USB3S2ESATA3 I wanted to move 2 gigs of data off an older external hard drive to a newer one through my old laptop, but I only have USB 3.0 or 2.0 ports on the computer so USB C is useless, hopefully Startech will update their Amazon site description. I gave them 3 stars because it looks like a good product (albeit wrong descriptor) and for good customer service showing me the product I need. I'll be returning this one for the right one.

MacのOSをTahoeにしたらFireWireで外付けHDDを認識しなくなり、 急遽こちらを購入してMacに繋ぎ無事マウントされました。 大事なデータが入ったHDDだったので助かりました。

Eski e-Sata disk kutularımı atıl olmaktan kurtardı. 6 Tb'lık eski WD esternal disklerimi artık kullanabiliyorum. Ürün tahmini teslim süresinden önce geldi. Teşekkürler.

Il existe des alternatives moins coûteuses à celle de StarTech. Pour une raison quelconque, j'ai décidé de payer un supplément. Au moins ça marche bien.
