Wrong tool right inserts.
Inserts were fine. The wrong insert tip was included in the package, it was too large. Had to use one from an alternate kit.

Wrong Size of Soldering Iron Adapter Included
The insert tip (that screws onto the soldering iron adapter) that comes packaged with the 1/4"-20 Threaded Inserts does not fit inside the 1/4" inserts, so you can't actually heat the inserts using it. I thought it was just a one-off mispackaging error, so I requested a replacement, but the replacement came with the same oversized insert tip, leaving me without any way to get the threaded inserts heated and inserted in my project. I'm not bothering with hoping the third time's a charm, returning both and getting a refund.
