RUGP Evolution Holster for Ruger GP100 All Models, Right Hand Paddle

I ordered this for my husband who, after trying a Fobus molded paddle holster for his XD pistol, had been looking for one for his revolver. As always for Amazon, the holster arrived quickly and in perfect condition, so of course, I have absolutely no complaints regarding my customer service/purchasing experience. Like his XD holster, this holster is made of thick molded plastic and fits his revolver perfectly...snug but not too snug. I certainly expect it to be quite durable, as the construction is just as good as our previous Fobus holster. The paddle does have some rubberized padding on it, and even though I think the padding looks rather thin, my husband found it to be very comfortable even when used with jeans. The only negative that I can see with this holster is that it does not "lock" the gun in place as our XD version does, so one does not have to press a button in order to remove the revolver. Although I can not imagine that the gun would fall out of the holster due to its snug fit, having to press a button to remove our XD pistol from its holster just feels a little more secure.

A great holster that fits my gun like a glove. I have a large front sight so I had to modify the holster a bit so that the sight didn't catch.

My satisfaction with my Fobus Paddle Holster for my Glock 17, lead me to purchase one for my revolver. I use these holsters in IDPA and ICORE. Each is easy to draw from, very comfortable to wear, and surprisingly easy to conceal. I am confident I found a great, economical option to more widely used belt-worn, kydex holsters such as from Bladetech which cost more than twice the money. The only reason I did not provide a 5 star rating is the adjustment screw for the GP100 holster is near to its loosest setting and I had to file out the holster pocket to remove some plastic. This effort wasn't too difficult or time consuming. I recall I used a 1" half-round and 1/2" full round file for a few minutes each until I felt the hold and potential draw was good to go. I have used each holster (the G17 and the GP100) once in competition and they work completely fine. I highly recommend Fobus Paddle Holsters for budget minded, entry-level competitive shooters such as me.

I got this for a stainless steel 3" barrel GP100. If you just want a cheap workable holster this will work. Otherwise look elsewhere. The one I got fits extremely tightly. The adjustment screw is pointless as the area around the barrel grips so snug you could probably stick it on a helicopter propeller without the gun flying out. If you plan on doing any competition shooting this will not work as it will slow your draw big time. Also I'm not sure how a plastic holster managed this , but it has left straight lines marred into the barrel and on the cylinder of a stainless steel gun from drawing and re-holstering (dust possibly? although it didn't appear to have any dust on it when I got home...) Not a big deal (although I would have liked to have more than 1 day at the range before having multiple blemishes), but if you are someone that likes to keep your guns looking like perfect safe queens then this is not what you want. If you have the blued GP100 I'd avoid this like the plague. For me personally this is just getting thrown in the "spare gun parts and apparel" box in the garage. I bought this just to tote my Ruger GP100 6” while dispersed camping and hiking here in Colorado. I just needed a simple holster, not a $150 chest rig. This fits perfectly. The retention is more than enough, I had to back off the retention screw just a bit to be able to draw without disrobing myself. It’s just fine for my needs.

I have had a bunch of guys give me flack abotu this item as it is inexpensive and kind of plasticky looking. To be honest I was not impressed when I received it. However, after wearing it for a few days, my mind was changed. This is a very nice piece for the price. The backing is large enough so keep the gun flat against my side and hold the weight very well. Mine is a 4" barrel GP100 so a longer jacket is needed to hide the weapon but for cold weather use it is perfect. The draw is easy and adjutable by loosening or tightening the screw on the side. Very slick holster. I had my doubts about it when I bought it but it really does a great job of securing the GP100 Match Champion. You can adjust the tightness too. Right out of the box it is very secure.
