These work perfectly on my propane camping stove and my propane lantern. I love that they can be refilled easily from a 20lb tank which saves me a ton of money. I can refill these for under $1.00 a shot, the disposable tanks are now going for about $5 OR $6 each and sometimes more so this pays for itself pretty quickly I have already refilled the tank about 3 times so far. Now this is a special filling system but again even after adding that cost in I figure after several more fills I will break even. Plus the fact they are safe and legal to refill is a serious plus. You can also tell these are made better than the disposable tanks, thicker, better quality welding, better valve assembly and the fact that 99% of places can't even recycle the disposable tanks, these keep TONS of metal waste out of the landfill. So this comes out as one of the few eco-friendly options that I have found that actually saves you money pretty quickly. Your return on investment will be pretty quick if like me you burn through a couple of these every time you go camping.

I have been refilling those dark green bottles for years. It didn't dawn on me that when they are bulged out, they could explode or leak. I probably am lucky that I had no catastrophes. I saw the Flame King fill station on sale and I bought 6 more of their bottles on Woot. The first thing I noticed was how much heavier the Flame King bottles are compared to the dark green disposables. This is a good thing. They look like they will last a long time. I watched the video on how to fill them and it is very easy. I am testing one right now in a small propane heater and it fit perfectly. These bottles are made in Thailand and that is ok. I have been to other countries that live on alternative fuels like propane and kerosene. So they are pretty much experts on how to design propane bottles. If you use 5 or 10 small propane bottles a year, it is easily worth getting, plus you are not trying to figure out how to dispose of the empty bottles. The refill station comes with the stand, not necessary if you just want to put your tank upside down on a table or the tail gate of your truck. But it is more handy because it gives you more room to tighten the filler. When this refill station is on sale it is a good deal. It comes with an empty bottle and the refill attachment.

Five stars for ease of operation and, most of all, saving the planet from yet another metal cannister sent to the landfill after one use. Flame King provides a video that shows you all you need to know to refill their cannister safely. The usual disclaimer: we don't know how durable a thing is until we've owned/used it a while. So, again, 5 stars for what appears to be a great product that saves money and puts a halt to wasteful, single-use metal cannisters.

Simple to use kit. All the parts you need and a single 1lb canister. Confused about operation because video I saw online had the placement pin in the back (leaving bottle vent) in the front, but this one has the pin in the front with the vent in the back. Safer I guess, but you have to reach behind to close the valve. Works great, simple operation, the stand is sturdy and held my 20lb canister just fine. Filled a few 1lb bottles quickly with no problems. No more disposable canisters for me!

So, I got this kit, and it serves it does the job. The propane holder works as shown in the picture. When I attached the connection to the main tank to the 1lbs cylinder, it filled just fine (just make sure you follow the instructions and safety protocols). The 1lbs cylinder works well and I have refilled it 3-4 times thus far; the cylinder itself feels pretty solid. However, when I bought I second 1lbs cylinder, I heard some noise in there when I shook it. I am not sure what was in there. However, after I filled it up, I did not hear that noise. All in all, I think it is a great product, and it does the job. I just wish the kit was a little cheaper. I think if you have the adapter that connects to the main tank and the 1lbs cylinder, then you could get away without having the propane take holder. In summary, if you want to refile some 1lbs cylinders, then I think buying this is a good call.

Excellent product and easy to use. Fills a one pound tank in about one minute filling from a 20 pound tank. But the two extra tanks I ordered would not fill up. Put in for a refund. The tank that came with the refill kit filled up with no problems.

I ordered this kit 7 months ago and just now got around to using it. When the first attempt failed with propane bursting out through the relief valve, I was kicking myself in the rear for not trying it out within the Amazon return window. And counting myself among the many disappointed customers who’ve written bad reviews. But I called the Flame King company and was immediately assisted to rectify the problem. Apparently, the relief plug can often be installed too open at the factory, and when they put it in there (incorrectly) they do it with loctite on the threads. I had already tried doing something with this plug before calling, and couldn’t budge it with ordinary 65 y/o lady force. The customer service agent encouraged me to put some ooomph behind my efforts and screw it in 2 full turns. More than that, he said, and you might close off the valve completely, blocking any flow. I did what he said and this worked perfectly. Filled 5 bottles in under 10 minutes. I’m very happy about this, and plan to buy another batch of bottles because I go through a lot in the course of a camping season. I probably should have knocked off at least a star for the poor factory quality control, but am so honestly pleased at how simple and flawless the process is, and how easy it was to get Flame King’s help, that I felt this product is worth 5 stars. Users should exercise caution when working with this kit. It does, after all, involve the transfer of a dangerous fuel that’s under pressure from one container to another. Take your time, open valves slowly, and pay attention to what’s happening as you work through each step.
