Great for controlling line levels
This device some people call a bass knob which is okay because I do too. It's actually a line level controller which works similar to a base knob except you can add this to any aftermarket amplifier utilizing your RCAs coming from the back of your head unit. This controller has the line level input from the back of your stereo you plug that into the input then it has RCA left and right output you plug an RCA cable to the output side and the other side of those cables you plug into your amplifier. All it does is decreases or increases the frequency of output going to your amplifier kind of like a middleman that way if you have songs that have really strong bass You can turn the controller or knob down and vice versa similar to a bass knob except like I said earlier you can use it on any amplifier. I have an amplifier that has an actual bass knob and it started crackling because the knob was going bad after 3 years so I decided to purchase this with great reviews and great videos. I found this to be the best choice. I'll make a long story short. When I turn off my truck it is completely quiet as far as my sound system but when I turn it on or crank it up after a few seconds my head unit comes on and there is a strange thump in my subwoofer. When I had the bass knob hooked up even with the level all the way down it's still thumped. When using this line output controller/bass knob I turn it all the way down when I leave my truck and when I crank it back up I wait for the head unit to power up and then I have no thump whatsoever from my sub so this thing can actually cut the signal down completely instead of partially so there is very good control utilizing this knob controller. I would definitely recommend to anyone with any kind of aftermarket amplifier controlling a subwoofer to use one of these. They are relatively inexpensive and a good piece of equipment to have in your sound system.

Prefered over Direct Amp Plug in Level Controller
I have used these PAC level controllers for many years now. In most cases I actually prefer using them on a subwoofer amplifier over the level controllers that come with some amplifiers and plug directly into the amp for a couple of reasons. The first reason being is that these PAC controllers are in cased in a plastic that can easily be removed with out damaging the circuitry. This allows you to just use the working circuitry inside of the casing which is a potentiometer and small chip. This makes mounting the controller much easier and nicer, because you can then simply mount the much smaller potentiometer into a small hole on the dash or other compartment in the vehicle hiding the potentiometer behind the dash where only the knob itself is seen. (Picture is controller mounted in my Tacoma) "Sorry I did not take a picture of the controller after removing the case". With the bulky case around it you are stuck with mounting the level controller via two small screws on the outside of the dash, which is an ugly eyesore. Some might think, "well wouldn't the level controllers that plug directly into the amp be a better option" than this PAC controller. Well the answer is in most cases is no. I will explain why. This PAC LC-1 controller connects inline to the RCA coming from the head unit to the amplifier. So it is directly controlling the signal going to the amp. Since it is controlling the signal going to the amp it is capable of completely turning the amp signal all the way down so that no signal reaches the amp. Thus there will be no output to the woofers, which means no sound coming from the woofer. This is great because there are times you want to have your music with out all of the bass. Now the level controllers that plug directly into the amp controls the output gain on the amp, so it can only turn the gain down as far as the amp will allow. In many cases with amps, even when the gain on the amp is turned all the way down it is still sending voltage to the subwoofers which will produce sound. The sound from the woofer will be much lower, but it will still be audible. Simply put if you want to be able to control the volume of your subwoofer from full mute to full gain. This PAC LC-1 controller is the way to go. They are quality made, easy to use, and work very well. One other thing is that since they control the signal going into the amp instead of the gain going out of the amp. They can be used on any size amplifer, because signal input from head units is usually no more that 5 volts. Which is easily handled by this controller.

This is a MUST-HAVE for car (or Home) audio sytems!!!
I ordered this product recently, to use in addition to my existing car audio system. It arrived promptly, and in good condition. The reason I ordered this item, was because the existing audio system in my truck, was wired and equipped with upgraded sound with includes: 2- amplifiers (1- Rockford Fosgate 150RMS x2ch amp, and 1- Kenwood 900RMS x1ch) which powered three speakers (2- Infinity 6 x 8 Front speakers, and 1- 15" Orion XTR2 Pro Subwoofer), but I had no control over the volume of the aforementioned installed amplifiers. After some research, I discovered that certain types of amplifiers (JL Audio, some Rockford-Fosgate amps, Boss, Memphis, Hi-Fonics, to name a few) come already equipped with a "Volume", or "Bass Control" knob (which connects directly to the amps) but mine did not. So I tore into my system and put this lil bad boy (PAC LC1 Remote Amplifier Level Controller) in between the Line-out converter, and the Amplifiers. It works perfectly, and provides me with the overall control of the volume of the amplified speakers (subwoofer included.) I give this Item 5 stars because of it works exactly as described, because of its ease of installation, and because of the price. It really is an amazing value!!! I definitely enjoy having such control at the tips of my fingers, as I am quickly able to turn down the volume of my upgraded sound system. It has the ability to completely mute the amplified sound. Which I like to do when traveling through residential areas, purely out of respect. I would recommend this item to literally EVERYBODY! Especially audiophiles, and other people who are really into building, or creating noticeable improvements to their car audio systems. This item isn’t limited to only car audio, as it will also work with home surround sound systems. I thank you for the time you have taken to read this review. If I left out any important info, or you have any questions, please feel free to leave a question, and I will gladly respond. -LGV

Control
It works great. It’s very smooth for the adjuster. The only thing I didn’t like. Was how short The wires were. I lengthened them To suit my needs and I think it’s a great product. The quality is actually better than I expected for the price. I would definitely buy another one if I needed it.

Perfect under dash - AMP' control for aftermarket systems. Must have for 100% control of a system.
Got this to turn down my amp' accordingly/ since touchscreen 2din mp3 unit doesn't have amp/sup aux rear out control, this is great alternative. Mounts with 2x tiny screws, kind of crappy and PiTa' Too get started.. but they work when pre-drilled. rite size screwdriver... Or use you own small screws.. pre-drill, small self tappers.. you'll need a short 1.5-3ft RCA cable too connect this too your head unit from under dash.. The cables attached are long, almost reach but, not long enuff for a truck or tall dash. Id grab a small 2-4ft extension of RCA male-male cables just in case.. depending were you mount it. As for the controller. its great. handle 2k watt amp no problems.. Solid build quality.. The fade from 0-100% seems too work great. Nice smooth dial. It goes all way down too 0% or off. I listen too all music, so its nice too be able too reach down and turn my sub' up or down a tad- Or off if I need.. Only things could be better, maybe the screws, bit longer atleast on input of RCA too reach head unit on big vehicles.. and last, a tiny bit of glow in dark on dial, or led would be awesome too help find it at nite.. But I can live with it as is, especially for price an how it works..

Dirty product
The product I received was very dirty. It came in a *sealed* bag but for some unknown reason, the wires were sooooooo dirty. It was as though someone rolled the product in dirt and then bagged it. I was disappointed in that aspect. On the plus side....the product arrived waaaay faster than initially expected and it works remarkably well. The bass increases as it should with no pause in between the minimum to the maximum level. The knob itself is very sturdy to the touch. I gave it ☆☆☆ because of the condition in which the product came in. I took some pictures before cleaning it up but I'm not able to upload them.
