Solar Shield Elm Fits Over Sunglasses (Dioptics)

These are great sunglasses; they really block the sunlight from all sides, unlike the flat kind that let bright light around the edges. I love these sunglasses because they fit neatly over my regular glasses (which are not small), but are also quite usable without glasses. When I wear contacts, these shades are just as great, and my daughter also loves them. Yes, they make you look a bit dorky. But being able to see and not incur damage to your eyes is worth it. By the way, medical advice now says bright sunlight can exacerbate macular degeneration so I've tried to always wear them when driving. I have one in each car and I would highly recommend them for driving. The one thing is that they don't fit in our traditional sunglasses holders in either the Toyota or the Chrysler. Therefore, I put a soft neck gator in one of the cup holders, and now the shades live in the holder surrounded by soft cloth. It's better than leaving them loose in the glove compartment or utility shelf, where over time the plastic becomes scratched.

These are my go-to sunglasses. They work very well on their own, but where they really shine over regular eyeglasses. I got cataract surgery 5 years ago - and no longer need glasses to drive - but I still wear reading glasses a lot, and it's convenient to not have to worry about what sunglasses I pair up with all that. Your mileage may vary, void where prohibited, objects in mirror may be closer than they appear.

I purchased this item as a "buy again". It is not the same item actually. This item is horrible and flimsy by comparison. The original item had a much sronger frame, it was vented. These will break in no time at all. The original number on the frame was Foster Grant 1121 the number on the recent frame is Foster Grant SR1224. It's too much time and effort to send them back (I bought two). I guess this is how they are responding to tarriffs.

I like the product. They fit relatively well over my regular glasses without physically distractions. They are light weight and provide good UV protection from the side. I mainly use them for driving, since the car windshield prevents my prescription transition lenses from changing. However, I was unhappy that the order didn't include all the items that were supposed to be included. The soft-bag to protect the product while not wearing them was not provided. Once again, another Amazon product delivered without all the items one has paid for.

In the description the size of the sunglasses was not mentioned and by default Large size was sent which was very big for my husband.
