grear book. couldn't put it down.

The changes were necessary in adapting the movie. The movie plot holds together better, but the book has many interesting details about fashion, food and business that couldn't be covered in a film.

'Crazy Rich Asians' is a fun romp through the lives of, well, crazy rich Asians (well, mostly Singaporeans). Reading about their excesses is quite eye opening, and the story (mostly about romance and greed) is entertaining. Through it all it also has educational value: I learned a lot about the Chinese diaspora and how there is a pecking order of where individuals of Chinese descent are judged based on their family history and country/region of origin. Bottom line: a rather silly book on rich Asian family shenanigans with a good ending. Recommended.

Love book. Way better than the movie (which I also loved) but we all know the books are full of much more detail !
