Definitely an upgrade to the cheap plastic sockets! Would buy again!
I had a rather expensive, hand-wrought metal light fixture with 8 candelabra-base lights. Unfortunately, the great craftsmanship was marred by the choice to use cheap plastic-type sockets that are used in so many candelabra fixtures these days. The cheap plastic either cracked or the thin bit of metal used for electrical contact came loose so there was no contact, and I was down to only two usable sockets. Whoever came up with the "bright" notion to skimp on metal and use this crap plastic should have a class action filed for swindle. But enough of my rant borne of my previous frustration. Enter now this item, a sure balm for all my woes! Bless you for continuing to offer full metal sockets safely tucked into the ceramic that generations have come to trust. These are just what you will want, ready to swap out the junk for the sturdy substitute. The base brackets are threaded to attach to your existing thread mount and the wires are securely attached, though ideally I would have liked longer wires for half of my lights; I had extend the wires cannibalized from the remnants of the original sockets for the longer arms of the fixture. Not perfect, but not worth dinging a star. When I completed the replacements with these sockets my fixture was fully lit, all 8 sockets reliably doing as they should on the first application of electric. Screwing in the bulbs was as smooth as you would wish, unlike the tendency to cross-thread of the plastic. I already have a replacement project in mind for the two extra sockets now at my disposal. Quit tearing your hair out and swearing at major fail engineering in most any modern candelabra fixture! Buy these replacements and save yourself major grief!

Quality and comes with hardware
Good quality. BTW comes with small nipples, washers and nuts. It's the same socket that was in my çieling fan with a little different mounting. The original hardware was a metal tab with a screw hole. If you look down into the socket you will see two offsets in the porcelain. A small Phillips head screwdriver will enable you to unscrew the hardware and replace it with the hardware from the old socket. I pushed the second screw I didn't need out from the back of socket. the back. The old mounting tab fit exactly. It sounds tricky but it's very doable.

Good deal for a 4 pack.
Only needed 1, but for a couple dollars more I got 4. Guess I will have extras if any of the other bathroom vanity sockets get damaged.

Saved me from having to buy a new fan
I had a ceiling fan with a bad socket. I used this to replace it. Unfortunately, the fan was old and the metal mounting bracket on the ceramic socket was different. Fortunately, I was able to unscrew the bracket from the old socket and apply it to the new one.

wrong. wrong size
these are not the size your going to need to rewire todays modern lights nor antique hardware lamps. the ceramic outer peices you better measure, they DO NOT fit inside candle covers, nor chandelier sockets/cups/candles. Wrong size for any project I have in my lamp repair business. Strange size. UNLESS you just want them bare socket, or socket buried inside something. Not USA sizes.
