Height Adjustable Portable Basketball System, 44 Inch Backboard

We got the style that's black with the orange basketball on the backboard. It does take a while to put it together, but I took off no stars for that. Overall, this is a very nice hoop. The hoop doesn't bend down, so don't try to dunk. But it seems very sturdy otherwise. My boys (8 & 10) love it. They play every day, and they've had it for about a month. It's obviously not your huge regulation size backboard, and there are much more elaborate models available. But for the price, this is an amazing purchase. Also, I got it new on sale for a birthday present, but you can definitely save some money with a used one. Also, we lost a wheel somehow, and the company shipped us a new one for no charge, right away. I'm very impressed. Another cool feature is that there is a round indentation on the base, so you can put the ball there when you're not using it. It has quite a range for adjustable height (from regulation to where my 10 year old can touch the rim when he jumps. Update: We've had it for over 3 months now. The boys love it. The only thing I want to mention is that if you don't fill up the base pretty full, it will get knocked over in a storm. That happened to us when we had it ½ full. It has not been a problem since we filled it up. Also, there is no evidence that it fell at all. It didn't get a scratch on it, so it's a very durable product.

Very nice product. With the price i paid its a good product. Goods: # simple design, looks nice, assembly instructions are very clear though it will take time. # remember this isnt the board and net u see in basket courts, this is simple for kids playing in the front or backyard Bad Nothing much but # the board is made of plastic material so when u shoot it wont rebound as expected. So any shot u throw at the center box of the board it drops down into the net # the assemble is a bit challenging when u start adding the board and net ring, either ask someone to help or us a chair support to put it on the top of it and then do it yourself.

Was easy to put together. Directions were clear. Bolts, nuts, etc. were separated is bags according to where they were used. One for the backboard, another for the base and pole. Filled with sand which was a little hard. The fill holes are on the top of the base so you have to tilt it up and pour it in at an angle using a funnel. Would have been easier if it was and the end at an angle.

Assembly took a little over a 1/2 hour. If you have the right tools it's pretty simple. My husband put it together by himself with me helping only to hold the post as he attached the backboard. (You can easily prop it up on something if you're alone) We filled the base with water and it's worked out great. I use it set to the 10' height. It's been very sturdy. The only downside, so far, is when my (small for her age) 8 y.o. daughter wants to play, she likes the hoop set lower. So we end up getting a ladder to adjust the height rather than tipping the water filled base. So that's a pain and makes me not want to adjust the height ever. We live in New England and plan on leaving it outside during most of the year, with the exception of winter. Hopefully it will hold up to our crazy weather but only time will tell.

We bought this as a family Christmas gift last year and it is still standing! We opted to fill the base with water because it's much easier to empty than sand. Just make sure you don't fill it too much in the colder months or it will freeze and crack the base open. Our boys love playing basketball so this basketball goal has given them lots of hours of fun play time. They especially love making trick shot videos! I like that it is adjustable because my boys are growing like weeds. They are both almost as tall as I am now and I know by this coming Christmas, they'll have passed me up! And I'm not a short lady! The hoop has endured my boys and their friends slam dunking and hanging from the rim. The pole is still nice and straight. Even the net is still attached! That is surprising in itself since I've seen so many of these portable goals that have lost theirs. We have moved the goal several times and it is fairly easy. It takes 2 people, when the base is full, to transport it to another part of the yard. It is definitely a neighborhood hangout for the kids around us. I would say we are getting our money's worth from this awesome basketball goal! My only regret is I wish we had bought it much sooner!

I got this basketball system for my fiancé for his Father's Day present and he loves it. I put it together myself and it took me about an hour. The only issue I had while putting it together was with one of the screws on the backboard. I may have tightened the bolts too much and since the backboard is made of a hard plastic the screw actually went completely through it. I adjusted the bolts and got it to stay and so far we've had no issues. One other thing is, I don't think the system is that easy to move. I filled the base with just water no sand and once the water was in it and it was standing up, I could not, for the life of me, pull this unit down to roll it into our driveway. Granted, I only weigh 115 pounds and I'm 5 foot three, so I'm sure a man would probably be able to move this unit the proper way but I could not. At the same time, this made me feel little bit better about not using sand in the base, as I don't think that this unit would ever blow down during a windstorm or anything like that!!

Our first basketball hoop arrived in a broken box. It appeared that the box had broken while in transit and Loomis had taped up the box, however, many of the parts for the basketball hoop were missing. I emailed Royal-Dan Inc. and they contacted me immediately with a solution for return. I had never purchased anything from this company so I did not know much about them. I have learned that they are a very reliable company and they provide excellent customer service. I was attempting to send the return in the old box however it was not salvageable. Royal-Dan Inc. suggested I wait for the new basketball hoop to arrive and then return the old one in that box. Well, when the new hoop arrived that box was also broken and taped and missing pieces of the box, however, all the parts were there to erect the hoop. Royal-Dan was very understanding and helpful. I sent the parts back in a couple of sturdy garbage bags with the return labels provided. Our grandsons are enjoying the basketball hoop so much. It is sturdy and it has a proper sized back board. If you are purchasing for your children or grandchildren you will want a hoop like this one as the back board is a proper size. Many of the ones made for younger children have a smaller backboard which is not good. Great quality item.
