Great product
This cervical pillow is very effective! It was first purchased at my Chiropractors office. I bought another one, in a different color. Overall, when u use this pillow CORRECTLY, it definitely alleviates neck and shoulder pain and allows for restful sleep.

A soft cradle for my head that relieves sciatica and neck pain for me.
I have purchased D-Core and Tri-Core about 7 times (every 2 or 3 years) . When my neck starts hurting, I know it's time to change the pillow because the support under the neck gets softer. As soon as I received the pillow, I no longer had neck pain after 3 days. In 1990, I was going to a chiropractor for back pain which turned out to be sciatica and she advised I purchase the Tri-Core. Tri-core is a little softer, but I can't tell the difference. All I know is my head is cradled in snuggleness. The Core representatives are very informative and helpful.

Best pillow for side sleeper
This is the best pillow for side sleepers. It's great for back sleepers, too. Many pillows advertise themselves as appropriate for side AND back sleepers. However, I think it is harder for side sleepers to find a supportive pillow. My experience is that a good side sleeper pillow works fine for back sleepers, but not necessarily vice versa. I'm a side sleeper and have tried the expensive ($150) pillows and the cheap ($20) pillows and everything in between and have a roomful of like-new pillows to show for it. This one is sufficiently high to hold the head level and properly support the neck. The indent in the middle is what helps to keep the head level and pressure off the ear. And you can turn it over and around to find the best fit for you as each side is slightly different. And the price of this one is very reasonable compared to some of the ridiculously-priced pillows (seriously, $150+ for a pillow??!). The pillow is firm but soft, which is what a side sleeper needs. Note that memory foam just doesn't work adequately for side sleepers as it "gives" too much to support the neck no matter how firm it supposedly is in my experience. And the shredded memory foam, which is generally advertised as "adjustable" so that you can fluff it as you like, also fails in my experience because it not only shifts when you want it to, but also shifts when you don't and results in waking with nothing supporting the neck and so a "bent" neck/head. This pillow fits in my standard case, but isn't washable per the instructions. I put a couple of pillow cases on to keep it clean. I will reorder this pillow if/when the current one needs replacement as this is now my go-to pillow. I took off one star, however, as the filling on this one also seems to shift a bit overnight. The manufacturer provides a video on how to move the filling back into place, but I find it somewhat difficult, esp. if arthritis is flaring in my fingers. Accordingly, it would be nice if the manufacturer would provide a zipper on the pillow in order to more easily redistribute the filling. I will note that I solved the problem my own way by folding a small hand towel and placing it between the bottom of the pillow and the pillowcase under the neck area. This way the pillow retains an appropriate height and I don't have to fuss with moving the filling around.

Inadequate neck support & too firm for side sleeping
I have some long suffering neck issues (osteoarthritis, pinched nerves, loss of normal cervical curve) and my chiropractor suggested that I ditch my contour/memory foam pillow and buy a D-Core pillow instead. I looked at several options and based on the mostly good reviews on this one, decided to give it a try. Unfortunately it was a major disappointment. First I tried to use the narrower side for neck support while sleeping on my back, but it is too flat and soft to offer any benefit. In fact, I was able to feel an air space between the back of my neck and the top of the pillow! I attempted to move around some of the inner stuffing to build up the neck roll area but it was of no use...its just too thin and flimsy to offer any true support. Next I flipped the pillow over and tried using the thicker neck support to see if that worked. Unfortunately this side is too wide to allow my head to fall back into the 'core', so my neck and head are kept at the same height, which defeats the purpose (might as well use a regular pillow). When I occasionally rolled out of the 'core' and on to the side for side sleeping during the night, the firm sides of the pillow were like sleeping on a stack of folded towels....no give, too firm, and a lumpy to boot! As bad as this pillow was for back sleeping, it was 10 times worse for side sleeping. I wish I would have kept this pillow in the plastic bag so I could return it but now its too late... add this pillow to the heap of gimmicks that didn't work.

The most comfortable medical style pillow ever!
I used one of these about 10 years ago while undergoing some chiropractic care. Since then my neck and back have worsened but I’m no longer a good candidate for chiro. I bought this again hoping for a miracle, and yep, it’s been a game changer. I have RA now which does affect my neck and back and jaw…how much time do you have hahaha? The reviews are correct; It may cause some discomfort for the first few days but WOW once you’re in the groove you can’t/won’t use anything else. Helpful: Get the smaller one for travel. The shape is fantastic for supporting the natural curve of the neck and especially for us side sleepers that need to support all the joints in the body. It fit right out of the wrap and the weight is good. I cover mine in a loose pillowcase b/c anything too tight will cause the pillow to change shape. And we want it flat out and supportive. If the pillow case too tight the pillow rises up on the ends and throws the physics of this miracle off. No smell out of the box/wrap. 500 stars! I fell into the memory foam trap too - but if your neck has lost its natural curve or you need support from head to toe the foam tends to not accomplish the natural position. It props you up but is not that natural curve. This allows the weight of your head to be cradled into the middle of the pillow in the most gentle way and all the aches and pains stop. This is the ONE! Quote me! And May you sleep well forever on…

It has taken 6 weeks to adjust to this pillow despite immediate neck pain relief, and occasionally I have reverted back to my feather pillow only to find it far less comfortable. For years I have had neck pain and often it has worsened after a night's sleep, with little ability to rotate my head. I do daily stretching and strengthening exercises and yet have not been able to make any headway despite also having physio on a regular basis. I am a side sleeper but do not find the ends of the pillow at all comfortable to sleep on as they are just too hard and too high, despite the manufacturers recommendation for side sleepers. Instead, I sleep on my side with my head in the center of the pillow and the side of the pillow with the smaller roll under my neck. I no longer wake up with neck pain. Also, I am using a king-sized pillowcase for this pillow (and it just fits) as my regular-sized ones are too small.

At fist I was thinking this was the worst pillow ever. After a few nights I adjusted to it and am happy with it. Not being a memory foam pillow is what I was looking for to allow for my head to not sweat as much. Overall I would not call this the best pillow, but it does support my head and neck the way I need while I sleep.

I had high hopes for this pillow. I have tried many pillow styles over the years I think this maybe the worst. While the concept of the pillow(shape) is a good design the comfort level is equivalent to sleeping on a rock. Different material and/or stuffing may make this pillow a winner. Perhaps older pillows may have been made different and they changed over the years, as there were so many good reviews for it?
