Works great!
This decorator is super easy to use and clean. Great quality for the price and seems like it will hold up for a while.

Easier than piping bags
I personally struggled with squeezing hard enough with just regular piping bags so I tried using this instead. I was able to use this easily with Pillsbury Vanilla frosting right out of the tub.

GREAT FOR DEVILED EGGS
I haven't tried it with frosting yet, but it is fabulous for deviled eggs. I brought some to a Christmas gathering and I was quite proud of myself! They were piped perfectly, and it went so quickly! And everything pops in the dishwasher. Well worth the money!

Wilton Plunger Style Decorating Tool – Handy but Has Its Quirks
I bought the Wilton plunger-style decorating tool hoping it would make cake and cupcake decorating quicker and more precise—and for the most part, it delivers! It’s great for beginners or casual bakers who want more control than a traditional piping bag offers. The plunger mechanism makes it easy to apply even pressure, which is super helpful for consistent designs and lettering. That said, it’s not perfect. Refilling the tool can get a little messy, especially with thicker frosting, and if you’re doing a big batch of cupcakes, your hand might get tired from pushing the plunger repeatedly. It’s better suited for smaller decorating jobs or detail work rather than full-scale cake icing. Cleaning is fairly simple, and I love that it comes with different tips for variety. Overall, it's a solid tool to have in your baking kit, especially if you want a step up from basic piping bags without diving into pro-level gear.

the Wilton Dessert Decorator is amazing. You can now say good-bye to messy pastry ...
In summary, the Wilton Dessert Decorator is amazing. You can now say good-bye to messy pastry bags and tips. At under $10, this is such a bargain! I also love that you can use it not only for desserts, but for deviled eggs as well. The Decorator not only decorates the tops of cupcakes, but also has an injector tip so you can inject filling inside cupcakes. After testing it out on a batch of chocolate cupcakes, my five-year-old son said, "Wow! Those look like the cupcakes from the bakery." And he was right. I am not a particular excellent cupcake decorator and most of the time my creative culinary efforts turn into Pinterest-fails. It is incredible to find an affordable tool that makes it so easy. The Decorator is BPA-free and so easy to use and clean-up. The directions were simple and assembly took about a minute. With the variety of included tips, you can create ribbons, leaves, roses and so much more. The plunger really pushes the frosting down the tub, making for no waste and easy clean-up. A few tips: You might find you need more than one can of frosting to frost a batch of cupcakes, as the Decorator will create fluffier frosting creations than using a knife. I would also recommend putting the frosting in the Decorator tube when it is room temp /slightly liquefied, and then refrigerate it while the cake bakes to get to right frosting consistency. This makes it easier to get in the tube. I also found a very narrow rubber spatula worked fine as well. I love this product and I will be using it exclusively for cakes, cupcakes and deviled eggs from now on.

good product
I haven't really had much look with frosting bags. I had huge trouble filling the bags, and the frosting came out uneven and messy. I hoped this product would do better. The first time I used this product, it was a pretty big disaster. This was largely due to my own error, however (I rather foolishly tried to fill it from the one end, so that the frosting dripped out of the nozzle end and made a right mess and wasting a lot of the frosting) so I was determined to try again. I don't make cupcakes too often, but recently I have been doing so more than usual because of baking for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I was pleased with my second and third attempts to use this cake decorating product. My frosting looked really nice on the cakes, and was the most professional looking I've ever managed to achieve. Unfortunately, this product is still extremely difficult to fill, and also to clean. The thickness of the frosting I used tended to sort of just pile up around the top, and I didn't have anything that was capable of pushing it down to the bottom of the "syringe". So I ended up with a big dollop of frosting towards the top, but had to screw on the nozzle, etc, decorate what I could with that small amount (2 or 3 cupcakes at most) and then refill. It was difficult and messy to clean up. Some parts i was able to clean in the dishwasher, but other parts look like they need to be washed by hand. There seem to be an awful lot of crevices and little places for the frosting to get into, and it's really difficult to get them out. I never feel as though the decorator is clean properly on my first try - I usually have to wash it two or three times before I'm satisfied. I did like this product because with patience, I was able to decorate my cupcakes and was happy with the result, but I'm sure there must be easier and less messy methods of doing so.

I'm a novice cake maker and really wanted to take things a step further without embarrassing myself too much with the decorating side of things. I read all the reviews on here and this item seemed to be the one which best suited my proficiency. So with the help of Mary Berry's book I got to work and made her fairy cakes. So far so good. Then unpacking this little beauty was a bit scary, but I do recommend you read the item instructions. So with the fairy cakes, I used the long nozzle and filled the cakes with seedless strawberry jam and then using the star nozzle, decorated them with butter icing. Ok, so perfection comes with practise, but for a first attempt my family were pleased at being my guinea pigs, but tbh, I'd give it 5 stars just for the fun factor. Just to create and decorate something from the ordinary was very rewarding, simple to do and fun...my family are very pleased that I'm so easily pleased. It all worked exactly as it said it would and I'm now looking forward to trying out the other nozzles on other recipes.

This is better than the usual cake decorator, being far more solidly constructed and quite a bit larger than the generic cheap made-in-China ones which are frustrating to use because the small size makes it both difficult to get icing in and requires frequent refilling. One reviewer pointed out that the trigger only moves the plunger about halfway down, this only happens if you do it when it's empty, once it's filled with icing the trigger moves the plunger all the way down.
