Takes days off of scrapping
I don't usually write reviews but this scrapper changed the game for me. I paint historical houses and it's very time consuming digging out old caulking. This Hyde scrapper is incredible. It took days off of scrapping. And if there's one thing any Painter knows is time is money. I'm so grateful 🙏 for this product. Thanks

Saved my project - worked awesome
I found this tool on a Thursday night, I was starting the job to scape 90 year old crown molding on Saturday. Came Friday delivery and this WAS THE TOOL! If I hadn't discovered this I would have given up. Every other too I had for this job failed. Wire Brush, heat gun, generic flat scrapers... FAILED. I was a little heavy handed and it definitely gouged the wood a bit, but I'm repainting them and it's going to look way better than it did before! Being able to change blades easily is a game changer. Took me 6 hours to scrape a 9x12 room, but removing and replacing the molding would have probably taken me as long. The release handle is a little hard to open. I think, say my wife, would have trouble opening it to change blades. All in all, great stuff!

Holds up well although it’s plastic and very useful
It’s not a very long tool but works well. I’ve only used two of the blades and they work fine. I don’t think they hold an edge as long as the other Hyde scraper. The one with the teardrop and triangular scraper blades. These blades are made of stainless steel whilst the others are made of carbon steel which holds an edge much better . I like it though and use it scraping wads of paint from casings in my house. It’s plastic ,versus the other style of Hyde scraper and it’s very easy to change blades but it holds up very well and feels solid when scraping although I am using a heat gun which makes things easier. I’m very happy with it. I’ve used the teardrop and triangle style scraper since the 80s or early 90s . I have a few of them. I grind the triangular blade to three curved edges and they scrape much easier.

Good Tool, Narrow Blades
A nicely made tool, I'd give it a 4.5/5 if I were allowed. The quick and easy blade changes are nice, and the variety of blades provided is impressive. My only reservation is that the blades were too small for the job I had to tackle, but the blades provided were sharp, durable, and effective. I also do not know if you can purchase just the blades when they wear out, so I'll need to look into that. The handle is comfortable and seems durable for the long haul. If you are doing fine surface preparation (furniture, molding, detail work etc.) then this is a 5/5. If you are looking to remove a lot of paint or other material from large surfaces, then this blade setup may get tedious as it is only about one inch wide. Still effective, but covers less real estate per pass. I hope this helps!

Worked well for a beginner doing some paint scraping.
Needed it to scrape the detail work on a door. Did a good job for a beginner.

Handy quick change
I bought this because I needed to scrape down the woodwork in my 110 year old home after reusing trim in a kitchen reno. The blades are really easy to swap out quickly - a handy feature I didn't really know I would need. The design isn't based on a typical threaded connection that might have loosened with use so there is no need to stop and tighten it up. Instead the blade is clamped in place until you're ready to change it out. The blades are strong though you may find they need sharpening after a time (to be expected). This tool has a fair variety of shapes though I wish it had some smaller ones for fine detail. It came with cases for only 4 of the 6 blades which was a minor disappointment. Once complete, I put the handle and all of the blades in a ziplock bag to keep them together for when I need them again.

If you’re going to scrape cabinets, this is your tool.
I like Hyde tools. This is a great scrapper. I’m through 17 drawers. Doors still to go. If you have a real wood kitchen and are going to repaint, take the time to do it right, strip, scrape, sand, prime, and then paint. This tool will help. It will help you get into all the curves. Whoever said you could use a credit card or a plastic scraper was delusional. I tried and it took 2 hours to do one drawer. The right tools make a stressful job easier. This is the right tool. Go slow.

Good blades, comfortable, handle dissolves...
Stripping wood in a brownstone with a ton of detailed moldings. Added this to my Allway set for additional blade profiles. Sharp, pretty tough. BUT, one huge con is that the soft rubber handle dissolves when left in paint thinner. When working, I keep a small bucket with paint thinner to drop the tool in when I switch to another. Makes it easy to switch from one tool to another without the paint hardening on it. By the end of the day, the end of the rubber near the blade had already begun deteriorating. Not sure they will last... Oh well.

I love tools like this. They make paint stripping of awkward and, sometime, intricate places so much easier. Easy to use, comfortable to hold. It will pay for itself numerous times over. It's already been useful when stripping years of old paint from Edwardian window frames and its next task will be the staircase spindles followed by a lot of architraves.
