Mackie SRM Series

Let me start by saying that this sub is absolutely amazing. It doesn't provide the most punchy bass, but instead it is smooth and room-filling. So far I have tried it with music ranging from electronic to hardcore to ambient, and I have yet to find a song that it doesn't make sound amazing. It provides the kind of bass that you don't really notice because it sounds so clean. But if you turn the sub off it is immediately noticeable. The construction is also some of the best I've seen. The sub is surprisingly light, but it feels very sturdy and the finish is so nice that I really don't mind having it sit right next to my TV. I highly recommend this sub for anyone looking for well rounded, smooth low end and who can really appreciate what a fantastic piece of equipment this is.

Great for the price

Its a little bit large but its a good sub. not cheap but the speaker delivers a nice immersive bass in indoor and outdoor venues. Only thing that would be good to have is some pegs and space on top to stack these hoes on top of each other. But I will just call a friend if I need serious sound I suppose. This is good for small to medium size gigs and even some medium events. Im sure 20 of these would get a big job done too. :-) Happy bassing

WOW!!!! This thing rocks. Punchier bass than I thought it would have. I am the DJ for the middle school I teach at and I set this up in my classroom. Well, it kinda knocked some of the panels off of the ceiling. OOPS!!! Low frequency is great and I am absolutely amazed by the quality Mackie puts out.

Purchased this sub on Amazon and it was a prime purchase through a third party vender. Had the sub for a month, used it at 3 or 4 gigs and the board went out. Took the sub to an authorized repair center and found out that the seller was not an authorized dealer (seller) of Mackie products, so, there was no manufacturers warranty. Fortunately, Mackie did the repair under warranty but will not make any other repairs to my sub under that warranty. If you buy this item, you may want to make sure the seller is an authorized dealer of the brand or you'll have no manufacturers warranty. Over all: Not impressed with the quality or the output of this sub.

Got mine on amazon warehouse deals showed up not damaged. Functions well man it thumps for a single 18” good room filling bass. Can not wait to add a second and get matching tops :) well done mackie!

Great sound, easy set up, sturdy and worked well inside and outside.

I purchased these subwoofers for use at a local theatre for community plays. Both units were shipped new from Amazon and both arrived DOA. One gets no sound at all and the other cuts in and out constantly. I am very experienced with sound equipment and the setup was correct. Unfortunately, I ordered them 60 days early so that they would be on hand for install at the theatre. I am now past the 30 day Amazon return time limit. I am told that I now must bring them to a Mackie repair center to be fixed. Not what I would expect for almost $2 grand. Mackie was a good brand at one time. Apparently they have some major quality control issues. Buyer beware.

I've used this sub for a few events now and can say that it really does the job nicely. I play in a few live bands in pubs and private events and having that bottom end really adds quality to the sound. You either have a PA WITH a sub or WITHOUT. It’s that much of a difference. My only reservation is that it seems the limiter comes in too early, as just when the bass is starting to sound nice - it's flashing orange on the back panel. It still sounds great, and doesn't clip - but the fact it's flagging it so early in the volume makes me worry abit that I could potentially be doing damage. I had a similar 'price range' EV sub side by side at a recent event and it happily drove at the same level - but it didn't complain like the Mackie did. I’m not sure if that’s because the EV will drive itself to death, and I guess in that the Mackie at least gives you some warning. All in all, the Mackie is a GREAT sub and really added a brilliant dimension to our band. Highly recommended. And it SUPER light! Love it!
