Great book but......
The book is great with colourful illustrations. But there are two main aspects of the story where the content is missing it misleading. 1. There was no mention of 'Lakshmana Rekha', a protective line that Lakshmana draws to protect Sita before he goes in search of Rama. Ravana knows that he cannot cross that line to abduct Sita so he falsely misleads her and makes herself cross that line to finally abduct. 2. There was no mention of 'Sanjeevani' herbal plant although it was said in the book that Hanuman brought the mountain as a whole when instructed to just bring a herbal medicinal plant that grows on the mountain that was supposed to be administered to bring Lakshama back to consciousness when struck by Indrajit arrows. I think these are very well known pivotal aspects of the Valmiki ramayana story that are missing and substituted by some other storyline. Apart from these rest is a good.

Nice comics
I brought this book for my kid and after reading this I found it will be very helpfull to enhance his Vocabulary and building of his personality as influence by acts of the lord Rama. This is pefect story and easily understandable by the depiction of cartoon work. I appreciate the the quality of printing and literature work.

5 Stars all the way!!
Perfect to introduce Ramayana to kids. Nice artwork and narration makes it interesting even in the animation era. So nice to read it as a bed time story, and my kids were waiting for bed-time till I completed the 100 pages. I had loved Amar Chitra Katha as a kid, and my kids equally love it now. Its both duty & pride to introduce Indian epics and tales to this generation. All worth for the money, and timely delivery too.

Some parts of this Epic have been altered to imagination.
I have always been a fan of ACK since childhood. I recently bought Ramayana book for my 5 year old and I am a little disappointed with ACK for changing facts of this epic. 1) According to the book, Lord Rama tells Surpanaka that he is married and to try for his brother Lakshmana, when he is already married to King Janaka's daughter Urmila. 2) Acc to this book, King Ravana kidnaps Sita rather violently. Sita is dragged by her hair by Ravana. This part shocked me. Ravana was a great King, not good but definitely great. He was an unparalleled King and Shiv Bhakth. He never physically assaulted Sita. Moreover no one can touch Sita because it would burn them. He kidnaps Sita after she faints witnessing his real avatar. He ploughs land around with his bare hands and lifts her up along with the ground. Like Hanuman lifts a mountain. ACK this is not Valmiki Ramayana. Please refer to the original version and I urge you not to portray characters out of your imagination and title them as Valmiki Ramayana.

I grew up on these stories. Indian mythology had been a part of my childhood, my first name is Hindi. While these are re-prints of the original comics I owned nearly 30 years ago, it was still no less enjoyable. I was glad to show my kids the myths and share these stories.
