Mathematical Reasoning Level D Review: Love It - I teach 5th grade during the school year, but tutor in the summer months. I bought this product to assist in building math skills. I am impressed! The workbook pages are organized by color. Each color builds the concepts of: elapsed time, money, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, measurement, and problem solving skills. As each color is finished, the following section re-teaches each concept, but introduces a new level of comprehension. It builds from simple to complex beautifully. I have used this book both in order (teaching every concept in the color) and by subject (moving through the colors while completing only the money pages, etc.). There is a subject directory with page numbers to assist in the latter method. I have already looked into buying other products in the same series! Review: Great life skills curriculum - Purchased this curriculum for my homeschooled 3rd grader and we love it. I love the life skills aspects- learning how to write checks, making changing, looking at a menu and putting together an order. Very well written, colorful and my son really enjoys it and asks to do it. Score!

Love all the Critical Thinking Co
Love all the Critical Thinking Co. books. This Mathematical Reasoning is no different. It has clear directions (that my 8yo can read/work on independently), good pictures, up to date, a little review and lots of new concepts that are easy to teach. All the answers are in the back of the book for easy grading!

User friendly and great price.
This curriculum was recommended to me and very pleased. Lessons are short and can easily be used for independant work. There are fun pictures which entices my kids to do work in fun way. The price is fair and lessons are not over complicated for me or the kids.

Great Spiral Math Book
I purchased this one for my older son and Level B for my younger son. I am satisfied with how each concept is introduced, explained and repeated so far.

Such a nice math curriculum!
I REALLY love this Critical Thinking Co Mathematical Reasoning Level D workbook! This is the first Mathematical Reasoning book we're going to use but I'm 100% getting the previous levels for my younger kiddo and all the higher levels for my oldest as we progress to them. Note I bought this as a returned copy. There was no writing in it and no damage, just minimal shelf ware from the looks of it. Any writing you see I did myself. Also note I've pictured the 2014 edition, the one with MTWTF on the front cover is the 2009 edition. We homeschool and are eclectic so we piece together our curriculum on what suits us. We'll be using Mathematical Reasoning Level D/3rd Grade and Math Mammoth as our core math curriculum and supplementing (mainly for drill work or if needed extra practice) with Khan Academy and Scholastic Success math workbooks. Mathematical Reasoning Level D is super colorful and a thick workbook. It can be used as a core or supplemental resource and covers many skills in five different NCTM Standards (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) that I have pictured for you to see. The pages are very nice to look at with the color and the size of the text, you don't have to look close or hurt your eyes trying to read small text and numbers. For the most part it seems each page/activity is different so your kiddo doesn't get bored doing the same kind of work every day. When introducing a skill the book works on it for a few pages then rests and goes onto something else or review for another few pages before returning back to that skill again. For example when it first starts talking about fractions it continues about 8 pages for fraction work then goes onto review of other skills for another 9-10 pages, then returns to fraction work again. So It's looking like a great spiral curriculum, meaning it comes back for review of skills learned as you progress through the material. Note by the pictures shown that there is not a lot of drill work in this book. I love that personally so if my kiddo gets it we can move right along, but if they need some practice I can easily pause and print off drill worksheets online or use another workbook made for drill work. The table of contents is super helpful especially if you want to use this as a supplemental resource and not trudge through page by page. The topics are great for 3rd grade but add in introduction to higher level math as well like algebra, so working through these pages will help give kiddos that start and ease into those levels of math. There is a full colorful answer key for all of the pages so there's no worry if you don't have time to grade or check the work on your own. Overall I can't wait to progress through this workbook with my kiddo and I look forward to getting other levels.

Easy for parent and student
We homeschool and this was surprisingly simple to use. I love it. We tried Beast academy online and were using Singapore math- which are both good. But this is simple open and go- easy foe parents and student. I highly recommend.
