String Art: Turn string and pins into works of art

10yr old daughter loved this kit. She is obsessed with string art now and has drawn out and made her own designers after doing a few of these. Very easy to follow along and use. Once we walked through the basics and instructions she was off on her own creating the designs. Designs were fun but may not be as up to date with what is “in style” overall great purchase considering we have burned through the supplies and will be off to buy more and keep creating designs.

I would gift these to a kid 10 and older. There is quite a bit of setting up to do...putting the little nails into the cardboard once you've selected your design sheet. My 10 year old granddaughter really liked it and did a great job. These are crafts worth keeping!

Wonderful product! Hours of fun for my daughter and her crafty friend (11 years old) and the ended up a very pretty string artwork to show off at the end. It does include pins (which are a necessity for this project) so I am a little hesitant to take it to houses where there are smaller kids, but for the 10 and up crowd (that are the target ages from what it says on the box) it is wonderful. Enough materials to make 6 projects. I took a star off because the red strings were missing from the set that we received.

I remembered doing this as a child, so when I saw it, had to have it for my 10 year old. She loved it, then all her friends wanted one, so we got three more! This is so much fun for the kids and each one turns our different. The directions are super easy and really the hardest part is wrapping the cardboard. It has every single thing you would need to make any of the projects on the box. This is a great craft! We loved it!

We spent the evening make string art hearts with our grandchildren. They each made a heart design but totally different and unique like each child. The kids are 6,8 and 10 they needed help getting the nails into the cardboard then supervision and a suggestion here or there about wrapping the string. A word about the string, I wish I had taken each color and wrapped it around a spool or piece of cardboard, the string tangled very easily and it took us as long to untangle it as it did for the whole project. All in all, I'm glad I purchased the kit and we had fun with it.

The children liked this activity. The instructions were great and the projects were really nice. My 9 year old was able to do it entirely on her own from the get go, but my 7 year old had a little trouble with putting too much tension on the pins. Pretty nice project for bored kids.

Great concept and the 8 yr old we gave it to has already done the first project - the heart. The problem is that there's nothing holding the pins in place because they're just pushed into cardboard. So if you can imagine taking a thin sewing needle or thumbtack and pushing it into a piece of cardboard, you can imagine how easily the slightest bump (from young fingers) will knock those pins astray or push them in too deep, or worse - make them loose such that they fall out of the board. Then you get stuck having to disentangle your thread and remedy the situation and begin again. It's a test of patience for a little kid. I love the look of the product and the concept of empowering the kids to do neat crafts. But the flimsy cardboard backing makes it feel cheap and then often fall apart under the stress of the constant push & pull of the string and the constant bumps from little hands. I wish the makers had come up with a pin & backing solution that was firmer. It might require a little more dedicated use of the insertion tool that helps you get the pins into the base but in the end you would wind up less frustrated and with a craft that's more durable.

Great book allows for some easy projects to get you started with patterns included and the kit has all you need to make small treasures.

Article correspondant bien à la description. Le mode d'emploi est facile à comprendre, pas besoin de parler anglais. Les modèles sont très sympas et le kit est vraiment très complet. Il permet de réaliser 6 Modèles de votre choix. Ensuite il suffit de trouver des cartons épais pour plus de réalisations. C'est un bon rapport qualité/prix. Envoi rapide et soigné.

My daughter (9) loved this. Did not need help, and made all the projects within a day or two. Wants more!
