Neat puffed rice chocolate bar
These are unconventional - they are a chocolate confection covering puffed rice. Not like a crunch bar - this is puffed rice similar to off-brand Rice Crispies, so it greatly lightens the bar and gives it a distinct toasted-rice flavor. The blander puffed rice is balanced out by the good quality semi-sweet chocolate, which is thick and substantial enough to make a single bar a nice snack. The individual bars, of which there are I think ten in a package, are about 3"x0.75"x0.5", I have had Mikado (this product), Dorina Riza, and nippon, and this is my favorite of the three, offering the best balance of the puffed rice confections. I preferred to freeze all three of them, since this gave the chocolate more body. Mikado reminded me a little bit of the old chocolate birds nests I used to make as a kid, though not anywhere near as crunchy. If you've never had a puffed rice chocolate confection before, this is a good choice, I would recommend it.
