This will be short and sweet. I bought a HTC One M8 and loved the design, but 5 days in I started getting little scratches on the back. Cosmetic from leaving it on tables and my desk at work. Very minor, but enough to make me notice it and for a new device it felt like a cracked screen even though no one noticed it unless I pointed it out. It was one of those, because I had it I couldn't take my eyes off it.So I returned the phone and bought this case shortly after buying another. The first one was completely clear from Spigen. Wasn't what I wanted. Bought this one and its perfect for me. Still showcases the phones aesthetics but protects against finger prints, scratches, and looks good doing it.I'm not sure how the impact protection is since its super thin, but I never (rarely) drop my phones.Fit of the case is very snug. I do not recommend a thicker screen protector with this case. I do not recommend any military grade protectors with this case because the fitment is so snug it will lift the screen protector with time. Tempered glass protectors with my experience are very thick so I can't imagine it fairing to well with this case. This case does have a raised lip off the screen so it kind of acts as a protected itself, but if you throw your phone in a purse or have sand in your pocket it won't really protect the screen.I'm extremely happy with this item. Highly recommended for those that want a thin stylish case that doesn't add bulk but adds a later of confidenence for your $600 phone.

There's a lot I like about this case. First of all, it fits perfectly, including the necessary cut-outs to allow access to the camera, buttons, and plug holes. And the blue color goes beautifully with the gunmetal-colored version of the M8. The glossy sides of the case nicely highlight the matte coating that covers the entire back of the case. It looks very high end, much like the M8 itself. While all of that is nice, the thing I like most about this is its degree of hardness. It's just flexible enough to absorb some impact, but it's still hard enough to offer some real protection.

Good case, have been using it for quite a while now. The fit is great, no issues at all with case becoming loose as with some other cases. Some dirt does get lodged along the edges but I can easily clean it out with a finger nail.The color purple is good, but does not look exactly as the picture since I used it on a grey phone. Since the case is a little transparent, the HTC logo is visible form the back and the color of hte case could get affected slightly.Overall I was very happy with th equality and color when the case was new. But after using it for many months, the case has become discolored and that is due to being used so much and by being dirty. The color now has a tinge of yellow to it, an ddoe snot look that pretty purple any more. But this is more my fault, I guess if I clean it it might look like new.

For the price, this is definitely a much better case than I had expected. I have both the matte smoke and matte frost version of this case, and I'll describe both.The matte smoke is definitely dark, but not too dark where it becomes black. The sides/rim are translucent, so you can still see through a little bit of the sides of the phone, and it shines in direct light. The back side is made of a soft matte material, with enough grip so it doesn't slip out of the hands. The cameras and power button were exposed, leaving only the volume buttons covered. Overall it gives the phone a subtle look without being too much in your face. I had this on the silver HTC M8, and so it resulted in a nice contrast and two-tone trim with smoky gray and light silver.Next, I ordered the Matt black case to try, but didn't like it because the shiny black sides were too glossy. I spoke with Hyperion and they were able to get me a matte frost replacement (talk about spectacular customer service!) The Matte frost complimented my silver phone a lot better, as the case reminds me of a block of ice (transparent on the outside, translucent on the inside). The matte frost actually resembled a very very light gray, and it allowed the silver phone to show off its original colors without masking too much of the original appearance. After couple days of use, I realized that the Matt back became noticeably darker (probably through extensive use), but it still remained light enough to still look, well, frosty. This case was slightly different from the matte smoke in that the volume buttons are now exposed, leaving all the camera lens and buttons/ports exposed. I liked this change because I enjoy the feel of the original volume buttons, but some people might find the buttons too fidgety.Regardless of which color you choose, this is considered a slim case. I compared this with the latest Incipio cases and found this to be slimmer (except for the Incipio feather). This Hyperion case also isn't going to provide the protection from an Otterbox, but rest assured the phone will be protected from a light drop. Putting this case on and taking it off is easy as well, so it's easy to switch between different colors for different occasions.It is true that this is a soft TPU case and doesn't have brushed accents or anything that would make it feel premium, but this is one of the most durable and solid TPU cases I've seen. I can see a lot of people getting this as an everyday case, and probably swapping for a more upscale case like leather during special events/occasions. For the price, I can't complain at all.I would recommend getting the same colored case as your phone, but that's just my insight and feel free to mix/match to experiment.Because the HTC One M8 is so new, there will probably be a more vast selection of cases coming, but for now, this is a budget-friendly, quality case to consider.

This case may not look like much, but it gets the job done! And this is coming from someone who drops their phone at least once or twice a day. My screen finally developed a small crack after owning this case for about 6 months, and I do not even think it was due to dropping it as it just appeared out of nowhere one day. I also love the purple color of it and that it is not too heavy, bulky, or slippery when you hold onto it.

The case is NOT hybrid. The description says there is an inner TPU case and a hard plastic outside. This is just a clear purple tpu case with a matte back. So if you are looking for dual layer protection, this isn't it. Order the one that says explorer. They should change the decription on these as it is misleading. The case fits well but it lifts the edges of my screen protector. I do love the matte back and it does help with the slippery back of the phone. I still like the case and it keeps the clean look of the phone while offering a little protection. I just thought it was an inner purple layer with a clear plastic shell.
