Purchased a 2016 mustang and the car play isn’t installed will this work and how do you install? Any special tools needed?

There is a YouTube video you can find that shows the installation. Your car needs to have SYNC 3. If you have a 2016 Ford Mustang or Focus with SYNC 3 and do not have CarPlay then you simply buy this and replace the existing part on your car with it. You will need to update your SYNC 3 software to the latest version (this is free from Ford online). I did this and it instantly added complete CarPlay to my sync 3 system.

Will this work in my 2017 lincoln mkx? i have appleplay already, but water ruined the main usb in my main storage tray. if not, pls give part #

If your radio is the stock Lincoln radio and you can connect your phone via a USB port and use apple car play on the car's stereo system then this will work to give you wireless access to car play. If the damaged USB port is the one you used to connect your phone to carplayv then you will have to get that fixed first. That USB module should just pop out and the correct replacement can be installed. I had a 2016 mkx and had to replace mine in the center console. Make sure you get the correct one. I ordered mine off eBay.

I have 2016 mustang but dealer said it’s built in 2015 aug, so i can’t upgrade to app carplay, is that true？

It is true that a 2016 vehicle would be manufactured in 2015, however, the car would still be classified as a 2016 so I would imagine this device should work. My car is a 2016 Focus and would have also been made in 2015 and this device worked perfectly in mine. It should work but if you’re hesitant, don’t buy it just based on this reply.
