2.5" to 3.5" SATA Hard Drive Mounting Bracket Kit - Dual SATA SSDs/HDDs Mounting Bracket for Mounting Bay , TAA (BRACKET25X2)

This adapter worked perfectly for my new Lenovo tower desktop where I needed to install the old SSD. The adapter clipped into the Lenovo's plastic cradle, and allowed me to mount the SSD by its side or its bottom screws. AND, comes with SATA cables which is a great bonus. Very well built.

Installed a hard drive and SSD from an old laptop as backup drives in a new desktop. All screw holes line up perfectly and supplied screws fit the threaded holes in the drives perfectly. The SATA cables are pretty much all the same, and these are probably as good quality as most others regardless of the price. Fits right in the 3.5 drive bay and the existing power cable in the PC can be used for both drives, so did not even use the power cable splitter. If only all PC systems were this simple.

Works great! I've got the HDD mounted and operational. Note; you'll need a power cable as this isn't provided. Instead Star Tech has provided a power split cable so; the builder can with one lead from the PSU; split one SATA power lead into two. That's a very cool idea and they have created an extremely solid power splitting cable here. And, at just six inches long it won't take up a lot of space in the tower. I like the fact that multiple mounting positions were provided for mounting the adapter into the tower so; I was able to mount this adapter in the tower with it sitting upright on my desk. Admittedly the ideal position for putting the screws in is flat on a table on a towel but I was feeling lazy and with the extra 1/2 inch of wiggle room I was able to pull it off just fine. My tower was a little on the inexpensive side and as such I didn't get a perfectly aligned back screw but it isn't coming back out without a fight and I'm confident I have it in there real tight.

The bracket has room for two drives but the holes can only serve one drive with the screws going into the side of the drive. Since I only needed to mount one drive it worked fine for me. But it doesn't live up to its description, so buyer beware. It was nice that it came with the SATA cables, but I didn't need them, so they went in the spares box.

When I change drives, there are always screws that drop, and get lost. This kit has all the parts, and a nice cardboard box to dump all the screws in. Getting the right, properly threaded, screw, and not forcing the wrong threads, matter to me. Yes, it costs a few bucks more, but it has all the extra parts to do the job right, in 5 minutes.

Got this to allow my recently purchased 2.5" 500GB SSD drive to be put in my Dell Studio 540. It worked great. I even mounted a spare 500GB HDD I had as it permits two 2.5" units to be mounted. NOTE WELL -- if you are going to mount the item vertically (as required in the Dell), you must buy the Dual unit. From what I can see of the single unit, it does NOT have the holes (in the bottom part of the pictures) that are needed for vertical mounting. I originally purchased the Kingwin 2.5 Inch to 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Disk Drive Mounting Kit , but that has the same problem as the StarTech single 2.5" unit StarTech.com 2.5 Inch SATA Hard Drive to 3.5 Inch Drive Bay Mounting Kit (BRACKET25SAT) , namely it does not have the necessary holes for vertical mounting as required by the Dell Studio 540.

I and my brother, mostly my brother, had no trouble installing this 2.5" to 3.5" bracket in my new HP Pavilion desktop despite the terrible instructions. I was very happy with this purchase. It's just a bracket, but it's a great, sturdy bracket that comes with everything you might need, including cables. I didn't use them, but they're good to have. The screws are also all the perfect sizes and made of metal! I realize this is a weird thing to get excited about, but it's nice to not get screwed over (pardon my pun).

Works perfectly for mounting my two SSDs inside my case. I originally had one SSD just sitting on the bottom of my desktop case (not the best option), but when I got another SSD purely for games, I grabbed this mount as well. Both drives are easy to screw into the mount - one drive on the bottom and the other is on top of that with screws on the sides. The SATA cables which came with the package are perfect for connecting the drives to my motherboard. The power splitter is also essential since the cables themselves are slightly smaller than what comes on my power supply. If this wasn't included, attaching the power connectors would have been really tough and might not have worked at all due to not enough space. Highly recommended if you want to easily mount one or two 2.5 Inch drives in your desktop case.

Excelente bracket para instalar 2 discos SDD de 2.5pulg. en una bahia de 3.5pulg. para discos HDD. Viene con todos los tornillos que requieren y con el cable de derivación de alimentación sata en Y, que es muy util cuando la tarjeta madre no tiene mas puertos molex o sata de poder, y quieres conectar más disco duros o clonar tu HDD.

If you're like me, and have a computer case with no 2.5 inch form factor bays, and want to install or upgrade to a SSD, you might be wondering... how? Well, the answer is this... Startech's 3.5 inch Mounting Kit for two 2.5 inch SATA SSD/HDD. This product worked perfectly, allowing me to replace my existing 3.5 inch form factor spinning disk with two Western Digital Blue 1 TB SSD drives. The kit comes with everything you need, including two SATA data cables, a SATA power cable splitter (Y-adapter), and all mounting screws. I opted not to use the included SATA data cables, as my computer already had two SATA cables available (one from the existing spinning disk, and one that I will be stealing from the optical drive that I never use). I most definitely needed the SATA power cable splitter (Y-adapter), as I had no spare SATA power connectors available for the second SSD drive. Mounting the SSDs into the 3.5 inch form factor cage was relatively straight forward. One gets mounted onto the bottom using the bottom mounting holes, and the second just above the first using the side mounting holes. The instructions tell you to use the included washers when mounting the first SSD onto the bottom of the cage, but I found that in doing so, none of the screws were catching the mounting holes, as the washers were adding too much distance between the SSD and bottom of the cage; I ended up not using them. Aside from that, the installation went painlessly. Very happy and satisfied with this product from Startech.
