5th grade Math Workbook: CommonCore Math Workbook

Perfect for extra resources in the classroom!

I purchased the book for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade. For my kids in different age groups, I wanted to give some math worksheets to improve their understanding of mathematical concepts. 1. The questions are of high standard and are similar to the questions on the standardized tests. 2. There are many word problems to illustrate the application of mathematical concepts 3. Workbook is clearly divided into chapters, and the font is acceptable size, along with pictures for some of the word problems, making it easier for the kids to interpret 4. Answers for every question is explained in detail at the back of the book. This is a big plus about this book I don't understand the negative reviews about this book. Better check the book inside & decide for yourself.

The editors really need to do a better job of making sure the answers in the back of the book are correct. Several times they were not—for example, the explanation would be correct, but the answer key would say that answer A was the right selection when the answer was actually C. Sometimes, the book was just flat out incorrect. But 95% of the time, it was correct, and the book has many good practice questions. I think it is a fantastic refresher or extra questions for someone who is struggling with a concept. It is just questions. There is no instruction, so you have to get the instruction elsewhere or be well versed enough in the concepts to teach the learner each concept as they go through the book.

I have been looking for a "true" common core based workbook for a long time and I am glad I found this book. This workbook had several word problems. I have seen sample SBAC tests and these questions align well with the standardized tests. The questions are not cramped like other workbooks. Ace Academic Publishing has books for every grade that covers all the common core standards. Amazing resources! I love the answer explanations within the same book and I don't have to go looking for the answer explanations elsewhere. Questions are very clear and challenging. The questions make my kid think analytically and the answer explanations are very helpful. Worth the money!

Amazon worked really hard for me to find the right common core Math Book for 5th grade and it even has an answer key plus assessment test to see how they are advancing. Great Book.

This math book is amazing. There are so many varieties of problems, so whenever my son needs to work on something we simply flip to that page on the book and we start working. Although it is challenging at times it's not so hard that it makes him loose his interest and want to give up.The problems are very high quality and I would recommend it .

This is a great book to practice the common core curriculum! even the difficult problem is step by step well explained in the answer.The topics in each chapter has appropriate problems that are interesting and easily understandable by the student. My daughter is showing more interest to do these worksheets than her school homeworks. this is a great workbook for my kids. The book has more challenging problems and several tests that child could take for self assesment. I would definitly recomend this book!

Although this has been somewhat useful in providing various types of problems to go with each concept, the questions/problems are too often poorly worded so as to be confusing or to allow multiple interpretations of what the problem is asking. If you plan to be actively engaged in your child's learning, guiding them through the assignments and checking their thinking against what they are being presented in the materials, you'll probably be fine. If you expect your student to work independently while using the answer key to check their understanding, prepare for frustration.
