NYX Professional Makeup Eyeshadow Base, High Definition

This stuff is seriously awesome. I prefer this tube version of NYX's eye shadow base as opposed to their gel-pot version, as that one goes on really thick and makes my eyeshadow all goopy. This one, however, is awesome. I bought it months ago and I'm not even through the whole tube. You only need a little bit of it to cover your whole lid. The applicator wand does a good job of distributing product. I have relatively sensitive eyes and this doesn't make my eyes sting or swell at all. It also helps keep my eyeshadow and eyeliner on all day long, even after an 8-hour shift where I'm constantly on my feet. It holds up really well with sweat, too- if I don't use this under my eyeshadow before I go to the gym, my eyes become a smudgy mess. This stuff is awesome, cheap, and lasts a long time. Update: after using this for almost a year almost every day, I finally had to buy a new tube. This stuff lasts long and performs really well. It was again delivered on-time and in the condition described, and wrapped in original sealed plastic. Love this stuff!

I wanted a cheaper alternative to MAC and so after looking around I got this one. I love the applicator, extremely easy to use and coats eyelid evenly. I also love how awesome my eyeshadow pops with this underneath it and it stays ALL day with no creases even though I got creases with the more expensive MAC primers. Just make sure you have eye makeup remover because it works so well it can be hard to get off ;0) Wonderful product! Update - I got a sample of TooFaced Shadow Insurance and was shocked to find that I got creases within a few hours of using it. It's way more expensive and didn't work half as well as the NYX, which I switched back to immediately.

My new favorite eye primer! Once on, it is buttery smooth and holds color beautifully. I have tried out several eyeshadow primers to replace an old item that was too expensive to justify how much I go through it. This stuff is great and has blown them all away! Has a bit of color, but blends in sheer and I love the applicator, makes it so much easier to get the product in the inner corner of my eye. Eyeshadows stay colorful and brilliant even by the end of a 15 hour day! Washes off easily with a bit of micellar water and cotton pads.

I bought this because I wear eyeshadow pretty much every day so I want something that is more affordable than UDPP. This is the only drugstore primer I can find that has got good reviews so I decided to give it a try. It works great. It makes my eye shadow stays on for at least eight hours without a slight smudge. And it is very easy to apply. There are couple reasons why I give it four stars instead of five. First of all, this primer has a weird consistency. It is kind of oily when I first apply it on my eyelid. However, it does dry matte. Second of all, it doesn't make my eye shadow colors more vibrant like some other primers do. Also it claims to be a eye shadow base so I was expecting it to make my eye shadows pop. But for seven dollars it gets the job done and I will definitely repurchase this.

This inexpensive lid primer is a powerhouse. Not tacky or sticky once applied. Doesn't irritate my sensitive allergy prone skin. Lasts for hours and hours. Totally sheer. Great value for the money. Beats out all those expensive high-end brands any day. Get one, you won't regret it.

The product itself works ok. It takes a few seconds longer to dry than other brands, but doable. The main con is that the tube is not only smaller than other brands, but is also not full, so there's not much product for the money. I usually buy Cover Girl Lid Lockup and only branched out when I couldn't find any. No matter the brand, I'm used to pulling out a new applicator and it being loaded with product, even along the shaft. With this product I'm often having to "double dip" to get enough for one eyelid and there is scarce product on the shaft, leading me to believe that it's half full at best. There are quite a few of this type of makeup on the market and this is the worst one I've purchased. It does work, but there's sure not much of it compared with every other one I've tried.

This product prevents creasing and makes shadow stay on! It should not be used if you're experimenting with color, because you'll need makeup remover to start over if you decide you don't like the color eye shadow you're using. But blending is still possible with it (but you cannot wipe a color of shadow totally off without makeup remover) and it definitely prevents creasing which is why I tried it in the first place. A little bit goes a long way, so the tube should last quite a while. Overall, great value, great product, I highly recommend it. 2 years after my original purchase, I'm still working from the same tube! A little goes a long way! Great value

Goes on smooth and does not crease let it set for 2-3 minutes and apply shadow. You will get better color payoff from shadow and it will stay put for hours and no creasing. NYXX professional products are great. Worked in cosmetics for 18 years and have tried sooo many products, this shadow base is great. Don’t be fooled by low price.

This is my go-to eye shadow primer. I have used high-end eye primers that cost $20 for the same sized bottle but I find that the NYX one works just as well. I can sweat and workout even and my eye shadow still stays on! I am on my 5th bottle of this and keep re-purchasing!
