Elite tier blending experience
Pros: - Pulverizes any ingredients in its path - Blunt blade instead of sharp - Very powerful motor - Nice quiet blending experience (most powerful blenders are loud) - Self cleaning feature put hot water & soap it works great but you have to dry the blender before putting it back - Big blender you can make things for a whole family or single operations so it’s versatile Cons: - Only 1 con but it’s huge if you put the blender in its holder wet the whole thing accumulates humidity & then it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria - Slightly expensive it barely ever goes on sale if you catch it on a sale pull the trigger

Wow- REALLY is WORTH the Price
I never imagined spending even half this much for a blender. I can't believe I'm saying this, but the crazy price is 100% worth it IMO. Currently living in an apartment building in NYC where it is not permitted to make normal blender noise at the time of day/night when I MUST make my protein blender drink - daily. So, we began our search for a quiet blender. This is quiet. Really quiet. I can run it at 2am even and not bother anyone. Added benefits: 1) It's crazy fast. I used to run my good Oster blender for 7 minutes (by the clock) in order to emulsify all the nuts and seeds I need in my special health drink. This blender does it in 60 seconds. Seriously. AND 2) The level of emulsification in that 60 seconds far surpasses the level I got in 7 minutes with my old Oster. All the nuts and seeds end up ground totally fine, no grit at all, super smooth. 3) Another added benefit -- perhaps the best, recognizable to anyone who has used blenders a lot for many many years: There are no removable parts! You do NOT remove any rubber rings or take the blades out to wash it. Everything stays intact. Soooo -- that means washing it is a snap and there is NO LEAKING and there is no searching for parts to replace - ever. What a frigging relief. 4) AND it can be used in lieu of a food processor because the bottom is wider than a standard blender and so the blades are wider. Hey, it's not quite as great as a dedicated food processor, but it's very good and if you're short on space it's just fine IMO. I made tabouli with this and it was perfectly satisfactory. I found that, compared to a standard dedicated food processor, I had to stop, stir, and re-pulse a bit more, but it's really OK. After all, this is primarily a blender and it truly excels at that. When my partner and I want to do something really well, we now refer to our "Blender Standard" which is our code for our 100% satisfaction with this choice.

Wonderful, high quality blender
I've been using this blender for a year and a half, and still love it. It handles frozen fruit (and fibrous frozen kale) with ease, making super creamy smoothies. Very easy to clean, and the noise dampening shield means I can use it even when other people are in the kitchen, without disturbing them. Well worth the price!

Burned motor after 3 years of light use
I loved the blender and how it made all kind of smoothies and hot soups, it was silent compare to other blender. But for a $1000 you would expect this blender to last like 10 years at least, right? Wrong! Mine started to smoke and it is a fire hazard now. I want my money back, not worth the price!

Great with a little help
The 800 is a quality blender, no question, but sometimes it needs a little help. At first, my wife and I started making smoothies for two with this recipe: 1 cup coconut milk 4 tablespoons of brand 4 tablespoons of protein mix 4 tablespoons of chia seeds 2 tablespoons of powdered greens 1 fresh banana 2 cups of frozen berries 1 cup of crushed ice This makes a great and healthy smoothy. My idea was to put the ingredients in the order listed above, press the icon for a smoothie, and walk away. But it wouldn't work. The problem is that an air pocket forms above the blade which stalls the unit. But the problem was solved with a few changes: 1. I changed the amount of coconut milk from 1 cup to 1.5 cups (12 ounces). 2. I added all the other ingredients EXCEPT the crushed ice. 3. I pressed the smoothie icon and ran it for 20-30 seconds. It worked like a champ. 4. Then I paused the smoothie process (by touching the smoothie icon again), opened the lid, and added the cup of crushed ice. 5. I continued the smoothie process by touching the icon again and let it run for 10-20 more seconds. Perfection. A Blendtec representative told me that once the Blendtec is broken in that I may not need to add the crushed ice as a second step--that I will be able to put everything in at once. But I have not had the 800 long enough to verify that. One other thing: It is quiet, very quiet, which I greatly appreciate.

Super Quiet
I had previously bought a Ninja and the noise was so loud when blending frozen fruit for my smoothies, I had to return. That got me looking into blenders with noise dampening hoods attached. I bought this one and since I just make individual smoothies, I have only used it with the Blendtec GO (30 oz) Bottle, Reusable Single Serve Blender Cup. The GO Bottle and noise dampening hood are remarkable. The smoothie cycle is 1 minute and is quiet, no earplugs needed! It blends my almond milk, frozen banana, frozen avocado, spinach, protein powder into a delightful smoothie I have every day. It is well worth the money and you'll save your hearing/no ear trauma!

If anything leaks underneath the jar during operation, start the warranty claim immediately.
After having the blender for six months I feel confident in writing a review. The blender is quiet, powerful, and easy to use and clean. When I got it I noticed the blade was ever so slightly off level. I also noticed the Teflon seal was ever so slightly bulging. During operation a few drops of liquid would be spattered under the jar. I figured this was noormal and didn't think much of it. After four months it got to the point where liquid would leak out while the jar was sitting on the counter and the blade would wobble. The blade had come loose and I was able to disassemble the blade assembly. During manufacture, the two sides weren't perfectly aligned and instead of seating, one of the lips got crimped and rolled over. My only gripe about the product is dealing with customer service. I submitted a warranty claim online and after a week or so I received and email instructing me I had to call to complete the claim. I called the claim manager about 7 times over the next three weeks but only ever got voicemail. She eventually gave me a different phone number to call and got someone at their "help center". I had to submit the claim all over again on the phone. They mailed out a new jar that has its own warranty on it without any further fuss. The process of filling out the warranty claim twice and the multiple different phone numbers was annoying but considering how much the blender costs, I couldn't justify shelling out the money for a new 96 oz. jar. I did break down and buy a 32 ounce jar because I was tired of not making my breakfast smoothies after a month. When the new jar came I had a close look at the blade assembly and it was level with the seal being even around the blade. During operation not a single drop of anything was splattered about under the jar. So, if you get one and have any kind of liquid escaping under the jar, start the warranty claim immediately because eventually it will worsen.

Game Changer for Healthy Lifestyles
Best kitchen purchase in years - hands down! After years of dealing with low end blenders and mediocre results we splurged on this beast about 6 weeks ago. Day one and we were making hot soups and smoothies. I was skeptical that soup would come out hot but it did. Smoothies are fantastic. We are having a blast experimenting with new formulas. Even our finicky teenager lines up for them. And its so easy! Add all the ingredients in suggested order, push smoothie button, wait 60 seconds, done! Have not found anything that it cannot blend. Maybe the best part is clean up. Just a cup of water, dab of dish soap, 5 seconds on the pulse setting and a quick rinse off in the sink and done. The shroud does reduce sound significantly. I found that a gentle press in the center of the Wild Side Jar lid was needed to ensure that the shroud sits flush with the base. We try and avoid kitchen counter clutter but the Blendtec is stationed there permanently. Take note - it is large and sturdy. It does not fit under our kitchen cabinets. If that is a concern I suggest careful measurements before purchase. Last thing - the 10 year warranty sealed the deal for us. Given we use it 2 or 3 times daily I have no doubt it will pay for itself this year.
