This little beast packs a punch! A few grains of Goex FFFG and this thing puts on quite a show!
I love this mini cannon. I saw one like it demonstrated on a YouTube video and found this one at half the price and it looked to be the exact same cannon. I just got into reloading for my shotgun, smokeless and black powder shells as a "prepper" with the current ammo situation. I have always wanted something along the lines of this, but now I had the BLACK POWDER on hand, so I decided to "Pop" for it, lol. I started with only 3 grains of black powder (Goex FFFG) and a wad made of toilet paper with NO BALL. Just blanks to test. First shot out of the box, PERFECT! Even with only 3 grains of Black powder the cannon flashed and whooshed and sent a big ball of fire and smoke out the front. My mother and I were very impressed! I plan to double that load to 6 grains of fffg black powder and the tp wad again to see if I get any more reaction. Once I get a few shots in, and clean it, I plan to move onto "patching" the balls to fit the bore. I imagine alot of people have that problem as the balls are loose fit and may not compress the powder enough. My best advice is the tp or other wad though, and to use tp wrapped around the ball to get a tighter fit. I guarantee this cannon is worth the >$30... especially if you have black powder on hand for any other reason just for the cool factor alone. It takes such a small amount of powder to fire the cannon, its totally worth it. A pound of BP should basically last as long as any person would be interested in messing with the cannon anyway, lol. MY cannon came exactly as described, and I can attest it is heavy and well made while still being TINY and looking good. Reminds me of a Civil War era mortar... lobbing the balls up into the air over walls etc, but this one can be pointed as you wish! Easy to use, but having no instructions just seems unwise. Luckily, I am pretty sure you could abuse this baby and its thick enough to withstand excess pressures... though I wouldn't recommend it. Great fun for the money, looks great, and ACTUALLY CAN BE FIRED! Whether or not you intend to fire, its a cool cannon anyway. Just understand you must buy fuse and black powder or a substitute if you plan to FIRE your cannon. I do plan to try the match heads just to see. If your local gun shop etc has black powder, a pound is quite cheap and would last forever. If you must order online, you will have to pay a hazmat fee. Either way, you need black powder or a substitute for firing. Those are NOT included. Just A basic understanding of how a cannon works and you will be good to go. I have been and its been fun! My mother has already purchased a black version for my father tonight after seeing mine fire as an anniversary gift. I plan to gift a few as well. Very cute, but really packs a punch. Well made and mine came complete, minus instructions, but I figured it out lol. Definitely recommend this. Maybe look to spend a little more if you're a complete beginner, as the more expensive cannons usually come with safe loading instructions etc. I will be buying again, so I can't recommend it more than that! Just buy it already!

Tiny, adorable cannon
This thing is really well built! I always saw it advertised with calcium carbide which I found confusing, I just use black powder which works great. Buying a fine mesh black powder was an effort but for as little as you need a pound of the stuff will last a long time. I was unable to find any commercially made fuses tiny enough to work with this so I just use a tiny amount of black powder as a fuse- which creates a potential problem where residual carbonized material can clog up the cannon and cause misfires. I swab out the fuse hole with a sewing needle on occasion and the breech with a q-tip, simple enough fix. The BBs sent with it fit perfectly although I've never fired anything out of this except tiny wads of paper towel.

Pretty cool, but consistency seems to be a problem for manufacturer.
Very cool little cannon, with a catch. As of writing this, there's no information on the listing as to what size fuse to buy for it. Some reviews said 3mm, but others said that 3mm was too big, and that 2mm was a perfect fit so I decided that risking too small of a fuse was better than too big and ordered 2mm. However, when I received it, the 2mm fuse I ordered wouldn't fit at all. We had some fireworks with 1.5mm fuses. We harvested those and they fit perfectly, nice and snug. Having figured out the fuse situation, it's a cool little cannon. Works as expected. I don't know if the fuse hole bore size keeps changing when these are manufactured or what, but some info in the listing would save some frustration.

WORKS GREAT!!! So much fun!!!
First off, the people who can't figure this thing out have no business being around any kind of pyrotechnics, gun powder, flash paper, etc. Sadly, these people are the same reason desiccant packs have a "Do Not Eat" warning label in big bold letters, but sadly it is what it is. Super easy to use, no need for cannon fuse. You really want 4FG black powder for the best results, but I was able to carefully and safely grind 2FG Pyrodex into 4FG and it worked absolutely perfectly. 2FG will work but not much of a pop, Triple Seven 3FG won't light and will only work with a booster but works well with a booster. 3FG/4FG Black Powder, Pyrodex P, or Pyrodex ground into 4FG work wonderfully. No need for a fuse, just put powder in the touch hole, make sure it's inside and on top, and then just light it. You get about 3 second delay with just powder on/in the touchhole. Can't believe there are people who can't figure this out and think they need cannon fuse for this. I just used wadded up pieces of paper towel as a wad and fired without the BBs. Didn't see much point in shooting the BBs since it's all about the noise and smoke from this tiny cannon, but you will need a wad either way. Projectiles aren't rocket science, just load them like a musket ball - powder charge, wad, projectile - but you'll need a patch/wad either way, same as with any musket ball. All-in-all just absolute loads of fun, my family really enjoyed this on new year's. Everyone had fun taking turns lighting and firing the cannon. Not super loud, maybe like a percussion cap going off at most, but just loud enough that with all the fire and smoke it just made for a fun time.

Great item. If you haven't got basic firearms knowledge beware.

Está muy bien elaborado, tan solo que requiere una mecha bastante delgada. Es un cañon funcional a parte de que es un bonito adorno, excelente.

It is really small, like the pics show. In your hand it fits , like the add. Need to make a securement device, like a board with screws. Not a lot of recoil but could definitely shoot your eye out... no joke. Use a 22lr case full of 4ffff blackpowder(roughly equivalent of 5 grains . A small pinch of tp to use as a wad to hold the powder and again the ball. Prime using 4ffff powder, won't be able to get viscos fireworks fuse easily in Canada. Light using matchcord, punk, or incense stick ect.
