Sesamee locks are da bomb!
These locks are amazing. I already owned three of them and they have been on outdoor gates, for 10 years, and two of them still work fine. I can't believe it. One of them, the one most used, last week became difficult to open, too difficult to keep using it. So I bought a new one. Beautiful brass works of art these are. But this new one wasn't smooth operating, and it wouldn't take the code. I returned it, and needless to say, customer service was perfect on that. The replacement lock just arrived and the shackle works like butter, it took the code first time, works perfectly. For ease of use, customer service, long lasting endurance outdoors, and sheer beauty, this lock can't be beat. Love it.

Sesame brass locks - the only lock I have found that will survive direct weather exposure
Good locks - though not "high security" as you can fairly easily pop them open if you know how and have the right tool. We have several over 35 years old in continuous outdoor gate use - ZERO problems as long as you WD-40 them once every 5 years or so, even in sub-zero use. Have used these locks (the brass ones - cannot speak to the others) down to 70 below F without problems (as long as it is not iced up, in which case a lighter to melt it is all you need). Note the new locks come only lightly or unlubricated so the dials do not turn easily - I spray WD-40 the dials as soon as I buy these locks. Note the numbers have to be EXACTLY lined up to open - no slop in setting the numbers and the detent or "click" when you turn them is not enough to ensure it stops exactly on the numbers - which is why I give 4 rather than 5 stars, because you have to reset one or more numbers probably 1 out of every 3-5 times you open it to get it to open. One thing instructions do not emphasize - turn the numbers to other numbers BEFORE slamming it shut, otherwise it may pop back open or not actually be locked. And if you only have one or two, keep the resetting probe somewhere you can find it if needed - without that you cannot reset the combination if you want to.

EXCELLENT! These padlocks will function for decades.
I purchased Sesamee padlocks in the 1980's. The padlocks remain in operation despite exposure to weather and hundreds of openings and closings. However, as I required more padlocks, the Sesamees proved difficult to find in shops. I purchased the competitors. Those locks function for a time, then fall apart or jam with corrosion. I must destroy the locks with a hammer to open a jammed lock. And the major bigbox hardware supplier now only stocks the competitor locks. I observed the metal of those locks is now some inferior metal plated with brass to appear solid brass. Do not buy the competitor locks. The Sesamee locks cost $3 more. Yet the Sesamee locks will outlast 3 or 4 of the cheap competitors.

I can open unlock it in the dark!
There are 4-wheel combination locks that look similar, but Sesamee did it right. The wheels have definite detents between numbers, so it's easy to feel each step as you count up. And if you roll them backward, they all stop at zero. This makes it easy to unlock in the dark, blindfolded, and behind your back: just roll the numbers backward until they all stop - you know now you're at 0000. Then count clicks with each wheel until you reach the combination. (And it's a combination you set for the lock and change if and when you feel like it.) Once you've set it, you have to push the loop in before pulling it out. That makes it much more difficult for thief to open the lock by spinning wheels and hoping for luck. I buy these Sesamee locks for rifle transport cases. About the worst thing that I can do with a firearm is to let a thief get hold of it. I trust my Sesamee padlocks.

Quality you expect!
I bought this to secure work equipment using cables. It does not live in extreme outdoor conditions, but is not in a climate controlled area by any means. The lock operates smoothly, no issues with the rollers or skipping combination like other locks will do. Also, if you want to change the combo, it's incredibly easy. You will take longer thinking up the new combo than actually changing it. Will buy more in the future. Highly recommend.

No Customer Service for Lock Malfunction
The first Combo change worked fine. Second time I tried to change the combination, there was a malfunction and now the lock won’t open with the old combo or the proposed new combo. NO HELP from customer service and no support based on the so called warrantee. What do I expect for a lock made in Taiwan. It will go in the trash.

Solid, like the vision free unlock feature.
Solid quality from Taiwan, like the vision free unlock feature. Was thinking it was a bit heavy and numbers a bit small, But: + Quality material with double notch locking. + Turning number wheel in upward position stops at number 0, so without looking at wheel i can turn in opposite direction my set number of clicks to unlock it in the dark or if i don't have my glasses.

Well made
These locks are easy to set the custom combinations and look like good quality material *brass) that should hold up to harsh Utah weather. Easy to use as I hate to carry any keys. Time will tell on weatherproof and durability but they look the part.
