Exceeded My Expectations
I bought the Wahoo Kickr Snap after reading many online reviews; it sounded like the least expensive, reasonable quality bike trainer. It was easy to set up. Since my bike had a thru axle, I bought the thru axle adapter kit Wahoo recommended; the kit installed in minutes. Once mounted my bike is stable and works perfectly, allowing easy peddling and shifting. Operation is amazingly quiet. The directions and videos from Wahoo allow integration with subscriptions to various bike-training video streaming services; I chose not to use one so this review is about stand-alone use. A free app allows control of the unit with a smart phone. Although the instructions are not great, I found several YouTube videos that helped. You can adjust resistance with your phone, the app track time, effort and various other parameters. I am able to get a good workout, adjusted easily for how I feel. It is essentially like riding at a constant incline; using the gears allows adjustment of effort, exactly like it would when riding. I set my bike up facing a TV and generally watch a game while I ride, it works for me! In summary it is a remarkably high quality, sturdy, quiet unit that provides a satisfying ride.

Great setup for the price
I got this initially because I didn't want to commit to the $700 or whatever that the Kickr Core costs. It definitely does the trick! I got great workouts with this thing for a little while. Be warned though, it is quite noisy and will wear down the tread on a regular bike tire. I'd advise getting a training tire to put on your back wheel to prevent that. Also, I was pivoting my bike onto its back wheel to get it out of the way after using it (which is pretty handy, tbh) but apparently that can shift the clamp a bit because my bike popped off the trainer at one point while I was riding because the clamp had shifted off of my wheel. I just made sure to check the clamp before each ride after that. I ended up getting the Kickr Core after a few months of using this one because I decided it was worth the money for the noise reduction, saving my wheel, and the added stats. But I would still recommend this one!

Great for an old bike
The Snap works really well with the old 7 speed rear end of my road bike. You'll read reviews on the internet about the hassle of having to keep your wheel inflated to 100 psi and the constant calibration. All of these comments are overblown. Get a decent floor pump with a pressure gauge and do a weekly spin down and you'll be fine. I'm using the Snap with Zwift and I have to tell you the resistance is intense and will have you sweating buckets in no time. This Snap puts my old Cyclops "dumb" trainer to shame. The enormous flywheel helps create a realistic and challenging ride. Ride on!

Nice Wheel on Trainer
I am a Zwifter and wanted a reasonable priced trainer controllable by Zwift. Didn't want a direct drive trainer because did not want the hassle of removing the rear wheel, plus prices are much more. This compact trainer meets all my needs. Easy to attach bike, compact footprint, easy to pair, and totally Zwift compatible. Everything I wanted for a good price. Glad I purchased.

In door torture for outdoor lovers
I gave this only 4 stars because I have found it to be frustrating at times using it pared with my I-Phone. Plus, the spin down feature that needs to be performed before every ride. Other than the I-Phone issues it will work your butt off, the price is right and for all the snow bound cyclist it will pare with Zwift. Would I buy again...in a heartbeat, yes. For me I get to ride along with the pro Tour guys on YouTube Replay, waiting for a 40 degF day.

Cannot set resistance
The unit does not function at all without an app or an ANT+ FE-C head unit. The app from Wahoo requires you establish an account - in order to do that you have to agree to allow them to collect data as part of their privacy agreement. I am very tired of all the calls coming to my mobile phone and have had to switch numbers 3 times so I am no longer willing to allow this. I don't mind the 20,000 emails per day but I can't tolerate receiving unsolicited calls in the middle of meetings. Customer support also said that one could use an ANT+ FE-C head unit. When I searched for that I saw many cycle computers but it was unclear which ones would set the resistance. It was going to cost me additional dollars just for something to set resistance. I wear a smart watch out on the road and have no interest in a Cycle Computer. It is noteworthy that Wahoo sells those and the subscription for the app. I am probably different than others since I have zero interest in the riding simulations. I ride outside down to 32 degrees and only use a trainer when I have to. I don't want a program modifying the resistance based on topography and personally don't need motivation to train hard. Collecting kinematic data from the unit would be useful but I don't want to pay for that. Either way, they should provide a means to set the resistance using a simple app or a manual control on the unit. It basically has very little resistance out of the box. I am returning this unit. Even though Amazon makes that easy, it is still time consuming, so I am completely dissatisfied with the unit and the customer service from the manufacturer.

Quick delivery of trainer through Amazon within two days and package was un damaged. Straight out from the box I was up and running or pedalling within 5 minutes with very minimal adjustments needed. Already had a trainer skewer fitted to my wheel and also speed/cadence sensors fitted, even though I wouldn’t need the speed sensor which I just quickly removed. Used Zwift on mobile for quick spin and connected with the trainer instantly after slowly pedalling and then calibrated it using Zwift. Yes the unit itself is heavy but I’d expect this with it being a wheel on trainer and gives it stability when hitting higher speeds and cadences. I think this is about the same noise level that I had with a fluid trainer and that isn’t really an issue as I use a purpose mat for my previous trainers. Not had any issues with drop outs using Zwift and or my Garmin watch and cycling computer, the only thing is that the power readings can be over or under, I was setting myself at 200 watts of power and was hitting around 180 to 225 in readings without easing off, not sure if this is a Bluetooth connection delay but will try it using my PC will update on this. Overall I’m impressed with the Kickr Snap and it gives me everything I’d possibly need for indoor training. It’s connected within seconds of switching it on the mains, calibrated in a minute and off you go. Very impressed with the resistance when climbing up hills using Zwift but it should connect to other platforms no doubt, feels sturdy when hitting the higher power levels and surprisingly quiet. It is heavy but I don’t see an issue with that myself. Everything works and within minutes less than 5 minutes actually I was using it on Zwift. It supplied me with a skewer and a front wheel riser of which I already had fitted but that is less than a minute to install. For an amateur cyclist who enjoys indoor training this is enough for what I’d ever need. I will try it out on ROUVY and update this but I’d definitely recommend this Turbo trainer to anyone looking to get fit or just want a dry ride during winter. It does everything it says with ease.
