Finally, proper tuna in olive oil!
As an Italian, I’m extremely picky when it comes to tuna. Before moving to the UK, I only ever ate tuna preserved in olive oil, it’s the standard back home. I was honestly shocked to find that here it’s mostly sold in sunflower oil or even water, which is really disappointing. This Rio Mare tuna is the real deal – the same one I used to buy in Italy. The colour is a lovely pink, not that greyish look you often see with supermarket brands. The smell is fresh and inviting, and the taste reflects the high quality and freshness of the product. The size is perfect for one person; I actually prefer this smaller tin to the big ones because I can eat it all in one go without leaving leftovers in the fridge. Yes, it’s a bit more expensive than the usual supermarket brands, but that’s expected when you’re paying for real quality. Delivery was fast and everything arrived in perfect condition. Absolutely worth it!

Better than any John West or other supermarket brands
This is the best tinned tuna that I’ve tasted and sold at a better price than you can buy it for in supermarkets (if you can find it). The tins are small but just use two!

The best tuna
The 1st time I had this 20 years ago I was so impressed with the taste. It's just smooth and meaty rather than fishy. Nothing has changed ever since, Rio Mare still delivers that amazing quality. Seller dispatched quickly and the price is excellent

It is the best tuna ever
It really worth the money. Good taste, good portions. The taste of olive oil is really good so I easily add it in my salad with a bit vinegar and TaDa you have salad dressing

Best Tuna ever!!!
I really recommend the RIO mare tuna in olive oil. My opinion this is the best & tastier tuna, and easily to be used in salads (no extra olive oil required) and on pasta. Expensive, but overall it deserve for the taste

Best tuna !
This tuna is a pantry staple for us and is a perfect go to for a quick snack on toast. Also use in pasta and casseroles. It is moist and slightly salty...my mum is a covert from albacore tuna in water.

If you're in the market for a canned tuna option, Tonno Rio Mare in olive oil is worth considering. Although it cannot match the quality of handmade ones, it is a decent choice for an industrial brand at a reasonable price as the tuna itself could be fresher and have a better texture. However, it's worth noting that Tonno Rio Mare in olive oil is perfect for cooking with pasta. It provides a great flavor and protein that blends well into pasta dishes. Overall, while the Tonno Rio Mare in olive oil may not be the best canned tuna option in terms of flavor and texture, it is still a decent choice. So if you are in need of tuna for your pasta dish, this brand is surely worth considering.
