Get this Bed!!!!
Dear shoppers, A couple of months ago I was in the market for a new bed after having my old bed finally fail after 20 years. going around shopping I was disgusted with the price of the modern designer beds that you find at most retail outlets. Being a veteran of the army I decided I would by a bed that was made of really good quality but yet be affordable. So I chose this one. It arrived in the truck after 2 weeks of shipping and I took it inside and you really need two people to move this bed when it arrives in the box because it is heavy. upon assembly I noticed that the pins on the edge of the frame were bent a little so that they didn't line up with the foot board and head board. I don't blame the manufacture for the defect because I am sure that this bed has been knocked around during shipping and that was the cause not amazon. with a few hits with a hammer I got them all straightened out and the bed when together nice and tight. After at least 6 months this bed is still in great shape. the paint on the bed is powder coated and durable. just don't use a knife to cut the tape because you will scratch the paint but I don't mind. laying on the bed is snug for tall people being 6 foot 1 I can lay on the bed with out my head or feet touching the ends but the pillow is a little tight. If I was to make a recommendation to the manufacture I would say they need to make this bed in the 80 inch length for taller people. over the several months this bed is still as strong as any bed I have ever had I can lay on it and it doesn't move or wiggle. the springs are a little noisy but they are strong and have shown no signs of wear at all. I highly recommend this bed to any single people or couples who need a good bed for their kids which is reasonably priced and will last along time.. Did I mention that I weigh in at 325lbs.

Over Priced Bed FRAME, not a bed
Many people like me might think they are buying a bed when they order this item. They referred to it as a bed when I selected it, and they show it with a mattress. What I received for my $300 + tax was a metal frame. I think the people who like this item are people who want an authentic military bunk bed. What I like about this item: It is very light weight. It appears to have very sturdy construction. It sits about 3-4 inches higher than a regular frame if you like that. It is easy to assemble. Just four nuts and bolts. What I did not like about this item: Several metal burrs. One large, dangerous burr on one bed post, where someone could press their foot against. It looked like whoever cut the pipe stock for that part did not cut all the way through the pipe and decided to twist and separate that length of pipe stock. And.. Several beads of "splatter" large and sharp enough to tear open the cloth on a box frame mattress. I have worked with sheet metal fabrication and inspected and removed the burrs and splatter I found, but still, upon resting on my bed, I grabbed the crossing bar at the head of the bed and felt a large piece of splatter that I missed. If it were a more pointed speck, it could have cut my hand. I understand the amount of welding that went into this item probably determines its cost of production. The manufacturer needs to improve its "clean up" on this item. As for the lack of a mattress, I am somewhat grateful because of the terrible reviews I have read of other mattresses on line. I ended up paying $300 + tax for a nice mattress I found at a local mattress store. The total cost for my bed, $600 + tax, but I'm satisfied enough.

Excellent Value
Just an FYI, no way does thus frame weigh only one pound. I was honestly tired of over inflated prices on bed frames. Their quality was garbage, no way the design of those frames were going to last five years. Partical wood with shabby construction? No thanks. On a whim, I decided to check if military bunk style frames were on the market. As luck would have it, yes they were. And, for roughly the same price as a lesser quality frame. That being said, the frame is extraordinarily solid. Very easy to assemble, took less than five minutes to put together. Now don't be cheap, buy yourself a good mattress to go with it. One that has a ten year warranty, you won't regret it. From time of order go delivery, wicked fast. This frame is in absolutely no way fashionable. It is a very simple design and construction. Don't be fooled by that, it's durable. Excellent value for the money. You will be able to hand this frame down for generations. If you are on the fence about it. Just ask yourself one question. Regardless of the frame. How long will this frame last? If the answer isn't multiple lifetimes you just threw good money away.

Shipping trouble?
Looks like an awesome bed if it wasn't damaged and warped beyond repair when it arrived.

Good sturdy, but noisy bed
I bought this bed for my son. He loves it and says it's very comfortable. It looks good. It's sturdy, for sure. It has a high under bed clearance that makes for dream storage opportunities. The ONLY drawback to it is the noisy squeaks we hear when he moves in his bed. It seems the metal links that support the mattress come in contact with the metal crossbars when he is laying on it. I've thought I might try to wrap the crossbars with some fabric to try to prevent the squeaks, but I haven't tried it yet. The noise is not terrible, but it is annoying enough for us to look for a way to quiet it.

Arrived bent. The corner where the frame goes into the footboard. It is a lighter weight set than the set I had in the past. Now comes with rubber caps for the end caps instead of metal.
