Anomaly: A Concept Album Review: Alicia does it again - Alicia consistently thinks outside of the box to give readers and fans a completely unique experience with each book. Anomaly is no different in that sense. It is somehow both her personal story through the ups and owns of love, but accessible in a way that the reader can pull from their own trials and tribulations navigating all things of the heart. It’s intertwining of song and poetry to tell its story works on every level. One very cool thing you should do is read this book front to back and then back to front. It has this engaging way of telling two different narratives depending on the direction you go and that in itself is a cool little discovery which gives this book continuos readability. Check it out! Review: Another Perfect Book - Alicia Cook is one of my favorite authors, and this book did not disappoint! I love how real it is - you can just tell that she wrote all of these words straight from her heart. I also love how simple yet unique each poem/song/lyric is, and I love that she was able to put out something that was very different from her other books! Would recommend if you're looking for something cozy to curl up with on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Easy read and magical words.

Beautifully written
I stumbled upon Alicia Cook on Instagram and her work immediately resonated with me. I purchased "Stuff I've Been Feeling Lately" and "I Hope My Voice Doesn't Skip" and truly found myself lost in the words. When I saw that Cook had released a new book, "Anomaly", I couldn't wait to order it and it certainly did not disappoint. Reading Cook's words- I'm transported to another time, another place. I feel comfort in the words- solace . . . as well as heartbreak. Almost homesick for another time. From The Falling: For now, I will say when we were walking around the harbor, if it weren't for the poeple with umbrellas running for cover, I would have nevr felt the rain or heard the thunder. And if you knew what it was like before, you'd get what I meant that morning, when I said you were the only one who could make me forget it was pouring. Every word is understood. . . felt. Personally, her words have stayed with me. Reading "Anomaly" was like listening to my favorite album . . the lyrics. . ..her words. . . . changing me as I read them.

A Great Read!
This book captivates you from the moment you turn the first page. Unique, creative and artistic are just a few words to describe it. Readers will find most (if not all) poems relatable... I certainly did! I truly enjoyed the transition the book had from the mending of a broken heart, to finding love and all in between. Definitely a phenomenal read! Kudos to the talented author, Alicia Cook. You did it again!

Lovely
"My heart is a cave, and it echoes your holy name." Everything Alicia touches is gold. I knew I was going to love this book the second I heard about it, but that did not detract from the joy of reading it. Anomaly is a gorgeous little collection of poetry and lyrics bristling with heartbreak and fresh love. Perfect for fans of Morgan Nikola Wren and Alison Malee.

Original, Raw, Riveting
I wasn't sure what to expect from a concept album/poetry book mashup, maybe a less refined Frankenstein project. BUT that couldn't be further from the truth. Alicia Cook takes you on an open emotional journey through accepting the end of a dear relationship to the sparks of a potential new love. With "enterlude", "interludes" and "exitlude" poems, she seamlessly knits the stages of her heart's healing between well versed vivid song lyrics. We see and hear about the ending, the mending, the falling and the loving with honest storytelling, dramatic analogies, and relatable inner conflict. No poem ends without the reader wanting to turn the next page to see where the journey picks up. I highly recommend this digestible, but unique interpretation of love songs and poems.
