Review: They work! - Was a little reluctant on these because of some bad reviews about them loosening up, hooks breaking, etc. I'm using them on a former Penske car hauling trailer (just like U-Haul) to tow a 4000 pound International Scout. Just got done using them for the first time, about 400 miles round trip including bumpy uneven Indiana and Ohio roads. Never a problem, I checked them at gas or rest stops and never had to tighten the straps. I was using the ratchets attached to the front of the trailer, and I gave them about three ugga duggas when I tightened them, but they're short handles so it's nothing exceptional. No complaints at all, and I like that they remove easily so I can store them inside when not in use, makes them last a lot longer.

**Q: Will these fit 245/50/20??**
A: Yes. I used on a tow dolly with a jeep grand cherokee. The tires are 255-75/16 which are 30" diameter and 10" wide. The straps were perfect size so all strap wound on the ratchet. Your 245-50/20 are 29.6" diameter and 9.6" wide. The listing only tells rim size and is very misleading on actual tire sizes. I used on a 5500 mile trip and the straps are very good quality.

A: Took a look at ours and Yes hooks will fit 1/2” rod.

They come in a nice storage bag when not in use. I was able to tow my bus to the body shop for paint with no problems. They are a bit big for my wheel size but I ordered them a bit bigger to fit as many wheel sizes as possible.
