SKLZ Pro Mini Basketball Hoop

This mini basketball hoop works really well and is easy to assemble. The ball in my opinion is great because it doesn't mark up the walls, and it is like a real basketball. The basketball hoop itself doesn't mark up the walls due to the padding on the back. One of the only problems is the noise. Depending how and where you are going to use this, the noise level is quite loud. For me, I don't mind because I keep it in the basement. Also the basketball hoop on my door which is about 8 feet makes you able to drop the ball in without jumping or anything like that. It is a good height for kids that are dunking it though because it's not too high. Overall I like this product a lot. I hope you like it too.

I saw one marketing video for these hoops showing a man sitting at his desk and just shooting a basket from his seat. That's what this hoop is good for. As for the rim springs suggesting avid young basketball enthusiasts can dunk, not on this hoop. Our second hoop backboard split horizontally across the middle of the backboard within about 2 weeks of use. Amazon quickly replaced the first when the nylon net frayed apart within a week and the second when the backboard split. Great service but honestly, I'm tired of repackaging the broken ones and shipping them back when they clearly don't withstand use. The second hoop backboard split in half within another couple weeks of receiving it. And now the third one has split in half across the middle. The original purchase was in March, so we went through 3 of these in 3 months. And no, my son was not hanging on it. He loved the hoop, cherished the hoop, cared for the hoop, kept his friends in line with respect to protecting his hoop from damage. The plastic backboard just does not hold up to dunking.

Bought this for my son Christmas 2014. Seemed very sturdy and well put together. Like some others, he didn't care for the ball it came with, so he just used another one he had. Worked well for the past 5 months (he and my other sons used it every day) and just 2 days ago, he was dunking on it and the backboard cracked. It started by the top left corner and went all the way down to the bottom right corner. The only thing holding it together was some foam tape on the back where the shot area is. He was pretty disappointed - ended up duct taping it together so he can still play as nothing else seemed to work for me.

Lasted about 6 months until the backboard cracked after rigorous almost daily use playing with my 7 yr old son.The ball that is included is way too heavy and loud and was immediately replaced by a Little Tikes inflatable ball that works perfectly.I made a wooden backboard and reused the rim for this setup mounting it to the wall instead of the door and got another month out of it before the welded bracket snapped where the rim is supported at the spring. In an effort of never giving up as the games between my son and I were getting more fierce at this point :).... I re purposed one of the U shaped black door brackets that was mounted on the backboard to use as the new support and mounting this to the rim and backboard!The replacement net for this is a bit expensive as sold by the manufacturer on their website when you factor the shipping cost. I found if you use an official nylon size net (Yes I said official size) and snip the bottom 2 rows of loops it looks and works better than the original. Not to mention I was able to find online an official size nylon net that was 8x less expensive and about 10x more durable than the Skilz replacement net. This latest reincarnation has been going strong for the last few months with no issues taking the abuse of daily thunderous dunks from that of a 230lb Dad and his 7 year old son.

There's several areas where the product does not meet expectations.> The ball is way. too. heavy.> The backboard is very thin and too flexible. If you thought you were getting a rigid piece of plexiglass or clear ABS you're not> The brackets that go over the door end up hitting the door sill. This pushes the top of the backboard out away from the door making an even less firm surface for the ball to bounce against (rattle rattle rattle)> At least half of the net rings were pushed right up against the rim and then painted over. This means I had to separate them with a pair of pliers before being able to attach the net

This hoop is great. The ball was very good until it began to deform after a year. The hoop lasted for about two years until a hard slam dunk from the side (with the backboard on the right) cause the backboard to crack right from above the hoop, down to the right side.Tips: I would not slam dunk from the side. I would by a few extra 5 inch diameter, pro mini hoop balls. If the ball begins to deform, completely deflate it, cover the swell with duct tape and inflate a little (the more air, the easier the deformation). Definitely are going to buy another hoop, because you can shoot, dunk, etc. We know now how to make it last! Hope this helps!

I have bought this 3 times and each time the backboard breaks because of a simple dunk. I would like a refund or even a new free one but it is too late now.

We originally loved this mini hoop. The only problem. The backboard cracked in the middle and broke off. I don't think this should have happened It has been against the same door since we got it I wish they would stand behind the product and replace it. My 10 year old loved it!
