Rock Solid Ceiling Mount !
I was concerned if this would work well for an overhead mount, as they are not technically recommended for such. But once I located the Joists and was able to get a couple of screws in at a 40 - 60 degree angle, and another two at 90 degrees at each end. I knew they would stay put and hold up to a 200 LB pull out (after checking engineering specs on fasteners on angels). The snap on matching flanges work perfectly to hide the screws that project a bit due to the mounting angle. While I pre-drilled the holes, I still stripped 3 of the 6 enclosed screws. I went with Torx head deck screws that did the trick and did not strip out under a long angle drive on old, dry, and hard doug fir Floor joists. Looks great and makes the bunk much safer to get in and out of. An excellent value and investment. I'll go easy and give them 5 stars even though the screws are not Torx or Square Head and therefore more difficult to drive their full length without over drilling the pilot hole (which the instructions do not mention). Also the screws were only 2.5" inches at most, and likely not stainless steel. But the price and quality of the bar is fantastic and almost half the price of the local hardware store. Who I give plenty of business on "right now" purchases.

Safety first!
Weโre in our 60s and preparing to age in place. A safety rail in the shower is so convenient and helpful. My SO is really handy and installed it himself; it looks fantastic and is very sturdy. You will need a powerful magnet to locate the studs if your shower is tiled, as well as a drill bit that can go through ceramic. If youโre handy and have the right equipment, itโs pretty easy to install. Would recommend.

An excellent product that greatly enhances safety!
I bought two of these Moen Peened Grab Bars to help my wife. The 32 inch version is mounted horizontally in the shower, while the 42 inch one is mounted at an angle matching our decorative handle (on the opposite side) to help climb a few steps. In both cases, I mounted to the studs. Installation went smoothly; I pre-drilled the holes (including drilling through the tile in the bathroom with an inexpensive masonry drill), and used an impact driver to install them. IMPORTANT: I have learned from installing several other grab bars in the past that installation is MUCH easier if you lubricate the screws with candle wax before attempting to drive them. It makes a huge difference. I broke off one stainless steel screw head, and stripped the Phillips head on the other before I remembered to do this. Also, do NOT buy the non-peened version of these grab bars. The peening is subtle, and doesn't look like it does much, but makes a big difference to your hand sliding along it, especially when wet. I learned this the hard way by installing a non-peened bar in another area of the shower. The product itself is rock-solid, and my wife reports that she feels much safer with the rigid support these bars provide. I would certainly buy them again if I needed to add more grab bars anywhere.

Installation is relatively easy .
Excellent grab bar, Installed easily after locating studs. I was not able to use the studs since the spacing wasn't right for the grab bar. I used the Secure Mount anchors. The grab bar is quite secure. YouTube has several installation videos to help the install process. Highly recommend Moen grab bars.

Great quality and sturdy
I have this installed by my shower and it really helps me with climbing into the tub. I had the maintenance service install it since that is beyond my capabilities. The finish is good and my hands don't slip. Good value also.

Nice bar but Tricky Install
I bought the 32 inch bar for horizontal installation on studs. I was hesitant because other reviews complained about the screws being unusable. I was able to do the installation using the supplied screws but it took a few tricks because the screws are fine threaded, not coarse and sharp like deck screws, and have a small Philips head (much smaller recess in deck screws) that's easy to strip. Here's what I recommend to make them work: 1) Pre-drill all 6 mounting holes a bit more than FULL shank depth. If you shallow drill you'll never be able to tighten the screws 2) If possible use a 5/64 drill bit. If you don't have this size use the recommended 1/8 but drill each hole twice; this will enlarge them slightly 3) Find a really good hand Philips screwdriver that precisely matches the small slot size of the supplied screws with the largest diameter handle possible - you will need to apply a LOT of torque by hand (do NOT use a drill with a screwdriver bit...you will strip the heads, guaranteed) 4) Apply a little soap or candle wax to the screw threads before installing (reduces friction) 5) Don't snug down any screws until all are installed and mostly seated. Once all are close, snug them all down tight (you don't want to snag a thread on the flange) 6) Go slow. Even following the prior steps you will need some real muscle to fully tighten the screws both to turn the screwdriver handle and simultaneously apply down force to keep the bit seated in the screw head. Take a break if needed. Once installed it's really solid and looks great. I bought the "peened" finish...great choice.
