Goodbye Goopy Paint, Hello Easy Clean-Up
Krud Kutterโs Paint Hardener Crystals are one of those products you donโt realize you need until youโve tried them. I had a stash of old, half-used paint cans taking up space in the garage, and these crystals made disposal a breeze. Yes, it took a bit more product than I expected to fully harden some of the thicker paints, but the end result was solid, no-mess disposal. The convenience alone makes it worth itโno more dealing with sticky, goopy leftovers. Itโs incredibly satisfying to turn a problem can of paint into a neat, tossable solid. Bottom line: if youโve got leftover paint cluttering your shelves, this is absolutely worth stocking up on. Handy, reliable, and surprisingly effectiveโit turns a dreaded chore into a quick win.

Worked well, but kind of pricey
I had a bunch of paint to harden doing a house/shed cleanout. This stuff worked pretty well and fast, but is pretty pricey.

Oil paint, Hard as concrete.
I had 20 year old oil paint which i would use on my cedar siding. The instructions said it could work in oil paint but i had already put some cat litter in the paint can which i believe may have soaked the oil out of the paint but didnโt work to dry it out. I put this whole packet into the 1 gallon can and started to stir. In about 3 or 4 rotations it hardened like concrete and i could not remove the paint stirer. This stuff is great and i would recommend it but take into account that i did use cat litter first and i did use the whole packet into one can.

Next best invention since sliced bread
Forget stirring in kitty litter. This stuff is awesome. You pour this in latex paint, stir it in and within a half hour the paint is hardened enough to throw in the trash. I generally leave it to air dry 24 hours but if you are on a time line this stuff is great. I don't know if it works on stain , varnish etc. If your cans of paint are only partially full, you can probably get away with just using half an envelope. I used it on Latex paint- no sure if it will work on oil based paint

Okay, but takes a lot of it and a long time to work
I used this several times to get rid of paint that was left over by the previous owner of the house we bought a few years ago. I used it on cans that were partially or completely full. What I found is that this stuff does work, but it 1.) takes a lot of it to work, for a full 1-gallon of paint I needed to use two packets even though it states that each packet works for a 2/3 gallon of paint, 2.) it takes a long time to work: you'll be stirring it for quite a while before it gets chunky/hard. I haven't tried Homax yet but I read that it works better and I will try that the next time I need to get rid of paint.
