scanner connects up but has to be paired with the phone or tablets blue tooth in settings.
The scanner should be plugged into the 16 obd2 connector, without the ignition switched on, as this may cause issues with the OBD2 Bus, then go through the logical sequence of switching on, then finally starting up the car. The scanner should be paired to the phone/tablet's blue tooth with the PIN code – in my case it was 1234, then you should see a blue LED light up on the scanner. The problem then is finding an app that will work with the scanner, i used the inforcar app, but certain areas needed payment, the scanner worked well with the inforcar app. But the choice of app will be dependant upon age of vehicle, a 20-year-old vehicle will not return the same amount of volume of data than a 5 to 10-year-old vehicle, due to the implementation of the obd2 protocols used on the vehicle. So you have to select the app accordingly to your needs, and most apps have a subscription based approach. If you don't want a recurring subscription, then go for the wired scanners that have the software built in - NOTE, some apps are useless!

Works on a Mini Cooper R50
I've got 3 OSB devices at home, and none of them would speak to my Mini. I know the port works, because the MOT station plugs into it, plus I also have a HUD on my dash (very useful also) This cost just over £10. Once paired up, I've got Torque Pro communicating with it, without issue. Annoyingly, the little warning light which I bought it for, turned itself off the moment I purachsed it and after a 200 mile round trip, still didnt show. But, Torque did notice the error still available to view and (O2 sensor issue), which Ive now dismissed - Highly recommend.4 stars for Easy to use, as theres no actual instructions. But its plug in, pair (code is on the back of the pack) and it married up quite happily

Bit of trouble..
..with this as it wouldn't find the OBD i'd downloaded for it. Might have been me not doing it right but my app found my old one straight away

Can only access basic ODB functions
Very basic - wouldn't even show ABS error codes - you will have to pay much more for a proper one.

Didn't work
I tried three different Apps and none of them would connect with the device, so returned it unused.

Does more than I expected
Needed it to clear a code on wife's Hyundai i10. Was a sluggish O2 sensor, code pending. Downloaded an app from Google Play, not the basic (free) but PRO for £2.50 and connected no issues. Loads of stuff to fiddle with, drive cycles, capture data during drive etc. For a Tenner cannot complain. My SnapOn code scanner 20yrs ago cost well over 1k bucks second hand and bearly did the same job. What times we live in eh!

OBD 2
This gadget showed up a fault a misfire on 3 rd cylinder, after loading an APP for a small fee £3 to an android phone. After new spark plugs & a replacement coil pack . The gadget cleared the dashboard light and all was working perfectly. Recommended.

Does what it says
So am not a driver so don't understand this device! My partner chose it in relation to some diagnostic use for a light that came on in the car! He downloaded a free app to use with this device! It came! He followed instructions! And he had the code he needed in next to no time! So it does exactly what it claims to do.
