They Actually Work!!
Its absolutely insane to me how difficult it is to find a leak proof gas can than you can pour gas out of without spilling more than you pour. We landed on the moon 54 years ago and we still can't refuel a lawn mower without making the grass flammable. Oh right... politicians got involved and saved us from a problem that didn't exist... Anyway, these things actually work. They fit my newer 5 gallon Midwest plastic cans. They're a tad hard to screw on, in fact at first I thought the threads were wrong, but they do work. Best of all, I was able to tip a full can on its side, and NO DRIPS. I'm thrilled. I'm still in disbelief that you have to spend $6 for an aftermarket cap to get one that won't leak, but hey. It solved a problem, now I can transport full cans without having fuel splashed all over the bed of my truck. Now on to finding a pour spout...

Best cap for my Midwest cans.
Works great on my Midwest cans. With other caps the gasket would end up in the can opening when I tightened the cap. These caps have a round ridge on the inside that keeps the gasket in place. Outstanding! Did not work on my Blitz cans. The cap made contact with the can before the gasket sealed. My try cutting the cap down some to see if it fits.

Work perfect ! No more leaks. No more California Compliant stupid spouts !
I live in Southern California (I was born here, my friends and family are here. I do have a Ranch in Arizona though....). It is enough they regulate my guns, but, really, my gas caps? Yep, every California legal "easy pour" or whatever leaks and is a royal pain to use. I was able to remove the "Safety Ring" off all my California compliant gas cans of multiple manufacturers and replace with these. No leaks! No more stupid snorkel that doesn't work. No more take forever to poor. I now have these caps, a couple of favorite funnels and I can fuel everything safe and fast now. I like the yellow ones as I live on lots of land and so have mixed gas (2 stroke and Stihl 4 stroke) for my many tools (weed whackers/line trimmers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, .....) and it so great to have my mixed gas with yellow caps so I know (and my Son knows) that all yellow caps are mixed gas. So easy ! I will write a short review for the black ones that as far as I can tell are 100% identical to these, just black. All were fit to plastic gas cans: Blitz, "Made in Canada", Sceper, and U.S.M.C. Did NOT FIT "Weldco". I also purchased from Amazon and installed on ALL my plastic gas cans (1.0, 1.5, 2.5, 5.0 gallon) these vents and that made a world of difference: "5 Yellow Fuel Gas Can Jug Vent Cap". Good luck.

Works on my Scepter FSCG552 5-gallon container
A couple of weeks ago I bought a Scepter FSCG552 5-gallon gas container. You know, the only kind that California will allowed to be sold in a 5-gallon size? And of course, it's got one of those insanely stupid nozzles things that requires four hands to pour. A couple of years earlier, I bought one of these (cheap) replacement cap kits with the flexible nozzle you can bury in the can itself. I had one left over, so I replaced the Scepter can's hand-twister nozzle with this simple replacement cap. I thought it would do the job. I then went out and filled up the new can with 5 gallons of gas and drove home. I made the mistake of putting the container in my car's trunk. As I drove around a corner, I heard a gentle "thump" but thought it was only the container sliding around on the car's trunk's rubber mat. Nope, it had fallen over. About half way home, I noticed the strong smell of gasoline in the car. When I got home, sure enough the container was there on its side, and gas had slowly leaked out of it via my cheap replacement cap. It has a really crummy gasket on it that does NOT completely seal around the Scepter's screw-on outlet. That was when I took a chance on these yellow caps that simply screw on, and appear to have a solid gasket buried in the cap. It has no flexible nozzIe to it, but that's okay. I was not sure if the threads would fit the Scepter, but it does, particularly when I tightly twist it. After screwing the new cap, I then laid the Scepter container on its side, as it had done when it leaked in my car's trunk, and ... nothing. No leaks whatsoever. Works like a champ! Peace of mind! When the time comes that I'll need to transfer gas from the Scepter to my car's gas inlet, I've decided the best way to do it is to buy one of these $10 hand-pump siphon things. Place the Scepter on the trunk lid (i.e., above the car's gas tank), and then use the siphon to cleanly (and slowly) transfer the gas from container to car's fuel tank. Slow? Yes, but hassle-free. My sole purpose as I write this is to keep a small supply of gas in my garage due to Biden's insane gasoline policies (about $6.50/gallon as I write this). When actual shortages begin, like in the 70s, I'll have my emergency supply. In the meantime, I won't have to worry about gas fumes in my garage blowing up my house. I.e., these are good solid caps with a nice fat neoprene (?) gasket that you can tightly twist to seal a "course thread" gasoline container. Pricey at $5/ea, but worth it if you want to prevent gas from leaking fumes in your garage.

A fit for Midwest 6 Gallon Water jug
I bought these for my Midwest 6 gallon water jugs (jugs purchased Nov 2017 at Menard's). I didn't notice before I purchased the jugs that the caps were not airtight and incorporated a pour spout. Not good for water storage. Although I'm still not sure if the Midwest cans are great for long term water storage (I still need to research more), these caps turned a useless jug into something I can actually use now. The caps fit very well on my jugs and have plenty of thread to tighten (one or more reviews said there wasn't enough thread to tighten). These caps seem well made and virtually indestructible. The gaskets appear they will stay put and I doubt water will deteriorate them. The package consisted of two caps although the description didn't specify unit count. I only gave 4 out of 5 stars because they don't quite get my jugs airtight. After screwing them on very tightly I can squeeze the jug and still hear a little hiss of air escaping from the cap. Another thing I'll have to research for long term water storage. I would also be nice for the manufacturer to give a list of jugs these fit. It's a gamble when you purchase them.

I need a gas can for marine use so a good seal from ocean spray is essential. This solves the problem.
